The Crisis Services Advocate position exists to assist the Shelter Manager and the Anew Center Program Director in the delivery of Anew Center programs and services. Hours: 40 hours/week
Pay Rate: $24/hr to $26.24/hr
Direct an in-house childcare program, Monday through Friday for a minimum of thirty-five (35) children.
Qualifications
- Minimum of six months (1 year preferred) experience working with school age children.
- Experience with Christian Education Programs for school age children such as Sunday School or Vacation Bible Study preferred
- Must have a keen interest and sincere appreciation for children.
- Must be able to plan, prepare and implement the day-to-day activities.
- Must be able to delegate duties to staff
- Current Certification in American Red Cross Standard First Aid, or its equivalent and CPR.
- The Director shall be at least 21 years of age and meet one of the following sets of requirements.
- Have a Bachelor’s Degree in any field or Associate’s Degree in any of the fields listed in 102 CMR 7.32(2)(a)1; and a Director I qualification and have eighteen months working with school age children; and have six months administrative experience or have evidence of satisfactory completion of at least nine credits in management or administrative subject areas from an accredited institution of higher education, or
- Have a high school diploma and has at least two seasons previous experience as part of the administrative staff of a recreational camp for children or has successfully completed a course in camping administration such as those offered by national professional camping associations, national agencies, or their equivalent.

The Assistant Program Worker is responsible for providing support to our Senior Assistant Program Worker in various tasks and monitoring the daily program.
- Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a Senior Center in accordance with the Nassau County and The Salvation Army.
- Oversee all aspects of The Salvation Army Senior Center, including congregate care program, Home delivered meals, and the SNAP program.
- The Anti-Human Trafficking Response Coordinator will work as part of a comprehensive response to trafficking in the Greater New York Command, including but not limited to conducting monthly direct outreach efforts to illicit massage parlors and other places where women and men are being exploited and trafficked.
- Coordinate and develop short term emergency housing response in collaboration with law enforcement.
- Provide trauma informed case management for all victims of human trafficking identified; and work with Salvation Army Programs and external service providers to ensure adequate survivor follow up and coordination.
- Develop, conduct and participate in ongoing awareness and training events internally with Salvation Army personnel and volunteers as well as in partnership with external stakeholders.
