The Corps Office and Operations Manager will serve in a critical support role to the Corps Officer (s) in a leadership role and be intimately and integrally involved in the overall ministry of the Corps. The Corps Office and Operations Manager will engage as directed by the Corps Officer with leadership responsibilities and will assume leadership, as directed, of the Corps’ operations, in the absence of all appointed Officer (s). Under the direct supervision of the Corps Officer (s), the Corps Office and Operations Manager will oversee all corps administrative and facility operations by maintaining office systems and supervising staff.
The Facilities Coordinator is responsible for the general upkeep of the Corps facilities. Please note, this is a temporary position to fill in for a medical leave.
The Group Leader II will serve in a support role to the Corps Officers, under the direct supervision of the Program Directors. They will be intimately and integrally involved in the daily operations of the School-Age Child Care program and the carrying out of its mission.
The Group Leader II may have oversight responsibility for a designated group of children and/or a specialized activity, as assigned by the Program Directors. They may also be responsible to exercise a measure leadership over other employees assigned to them.
The Group Leader II will be required to provide support to the Program Directors, when necessary. There may be periods when the Group Leader II will be assigned to assist with a group or activity, under the leadership of another Group Leader. The Group Leader II should be prepared, experienced and qualified to assume greater leadership responsibility, if necessary.

The Substitute will assist staff with classroom duties (replacing absent staff person’s duties for the day).

SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To provide assistance to the homeless population in a residential facility which serves single women, women with children, couples and custodial male parents with children. Must be readily available and flexible to cover a variety of shifts, weekends and holidays.
Program Manager should have a comprehensive knowledge of community resources, OPWDD regulations, and related fiscal issues, have a thorough knowledge of the individual’s personal goals, preferences, and needs. Program Manager will assist the Assistant Director and Director of Developmental Disabilities Services of The Salvation Army Greater New York Division in the overall administration of the program. The Program Manager will ensure the individuals receive the highest standard of services required. They will ensure that all services are coordinated and implemented as needed through the individual’s plans. Program Manager must be able to travel, have good writing skills, articulate and be an aggressive advocate. Is able to function at a full capacity within the duties outlined in the job description and requirement.
The Director of Child Care is responsible for oversight and administration of the overall functioning of all Child Care programs in Social Services of Greater New York, and for setting and maintaining a high level of professional services. The Director of Child Care will create an annual plan to continue to increase enrollment and strategies to improve existing services. The Director of Child Care also serves as a collaborative liaison between the Corps Community Centers’ Corps Officer, Social Services Administration, and our funding partners, to ensure a supportive, high-quality practice through procedure development/monitoring and support of these programs. Must use discretion and independent judgment in exercising duties.

The Supervisor - Social Services is responsible for the coordination of services for homeless families residing in family shelters. The Supervisor - Social Services is responsible for interfacing with the New York City Department of Homeless Services Staff, Shelter providers and relevant community-based organizations to enhance and ensure families are in receipt of optimal care and service coordination. The supervisor must promote and model best practices for shelter social service staff. The supervisor will lead in improving linkages to mental health and community-based services.
The Supervisor - Social Services is responsible for the overall supervision of the Social Workers. The Supervisor - Social Services is responsible for giving documented clinical hours to all Social Workers. The Supervisor - Social Services sets the standards of supervision that is an essential and integral part of the training and continuing education required for the skillful development of professional competent social workers.
The Supervisor - Social Services will guide staff in the development, implementation and achievement of program goals, including working with staff to develop intervention plans which may involve an array of training, conducting workshops, groups, facilitating feedback sessions with clients and community and linking clients to available resources.
The Supervisor - Social Services is responsible to oversee the work of the Social Workers which is: the completion of psychosocial assessments of complex families impacted by multiple systems, provide appropriate linkages for families to community based services, be able to work from a multi-disciplinary team approach to service, work within a crisis driven environment with a knowledge base of substance abuse and addiction, domestic violence, child maltreatment, trauma, and mental health conditions, provide education to other members of the team around clients’ psychosocial stressors and needs, to ensure positive outcomes for families as well as ensure that documentation of client progress is in compliance with agency guidelines.
Supervisors will handle administrative, operation, programmatic related issues that might affect Social Worker staff and will liaise with DHS staff; governmental agencies and community passed organizations to ensure all resources are made to families.
The LCSW will obtain ongoing professional development by the individual agency program, and the New York City Department of Homeless Services – Division of Family Services. The LCSW will be expected to provide qualitative and quantitative feedback to Department of Homeless Services (DHS) and DHS Service Providers to inform both policy and practice.
