Scope & Purpose of Position: Support the Social Ministries Director with the management of the Service Extension Units by performing various administrative, accounting, and coordinating duties. Recruit and train volunteers in all Service Units. Promote and coordinate seasonal programs such as camp registration and the Red Kettle Campaign. Provide administrative support with correspondence to Service Unit volunteers, and receive and direct phone calls from volunteers, donors, and community members seeking assistance. Provide coverage as needed for the Norwich and Winsted service offices.

Description of Position:
The Events and Advisory Organizations Manager plans and executes Greater Philadelphia special events, manages and recruits for advisory organizations, and facilitates community outreach for the Red Kettle Campaign and the related data.
Shall provide a variety of services to individuals in need, including food and personal hygiene items, clothing, and furniture vouchers, rent assistance, referrals to community resources, seasonal programming, answering, screening, and directing all calls and taking messages. Will also be responsible for directing incoming mail, and maintaining office supply inventory and must acquire full knowledge of all services provided by The Salvation Army Riverhead Corps. He/She will also work directly with Corps Officers to provide support and handle any other duties as assigned.
Completes intakes, assists with discharges, completes paperwork as needed. Works closely with adult residents. Provides orientation to the program. Reviews program rules, policies and procedures with clients. Reports rule violations, injuries, and incidents to assigned worker and management – both verbally and in writing via the special report (must be completed by the end of their scheduled shift).
Rate of pay is $16.00/hr

Interview clients seeking assistance for various human service needs and making referrals to other area agencies for further services. Maintain daily records of clients including but not limited to forms/files/correspondence/statistical information. Support Corps in the implementation of social ministries programs and collaborate with other social service agencies in the community.
Casework
- Interview clients and assess needs and resources of clients.
- Provide emergency assistance, counseling, advocacy to clients according to the needs assessed.
- Make referrals to area agencies for further services.
- Schedule appointments for clientele as needed.
- Maintain accurate and confidential daily records of clients including but not limited to forms/files/correspondence/statistical information/ and other records as required.
- Recognize spiritual needs of persons which may require referral to the Corps Officers (who are ordained ministers of The Salvation Army).
Program Support
- Assist with the implementation and coordination of social ministries programs at Corps
- Maintain inventory for feeding program and emergency food pantry, including supporting Corps officers in grant and in-kind donation development.
- Network with and cultivate collaborative relationships with key personnel at other social service agencies and community-based organizations in the corps area.

Reporting to the Director of Major Gifts, the Donor Relations Manager will lead the design and implementation of a strong Mid-Level donor relations program for the Greater New York Division.
