Tenants at The Salvation Army senior housing units pay 30 percent of their adjusted gross income for rent, and HUD pays the balance. On-site social services programming provides an array of activities, and case management interventions, which support older adults to remain self-sufficient.

Psychology, Physical Education, Recreation, Child Psychology, the Arts, Social Work, Sociology or Childcare and have six months experience working with school age children; and have six months of administrative experience or have evidence of satisfactory completion of at least nine credits in management or administrative subject areas from an accredited institution of higher education; or - Have a bachelor’s degree in any field or an associate degree in any of the fields listed in 102 CMR 7.32 (2) (a) 1; and have eighteen months working with school age children; and have six months administrative experience or have evidence of satisfactory completion of at least nine credits in management or administrative subject are from an accredited institution of higher education; or - Have a high school diploma or equivalent; and have four years of experience working with children, two-thirds of which is with school age children and have one year of administrative experience or have evidence of satisfactory completion of at least nine credits in management or administrative subject areas from an accredited institution of higher education. - Have a minimum of six months (one year preferred) experience working with school-age children - Experience with Christian Education Programs for school age children such as Sunday School or Vacation Bible Study preferred - Must be able to plan, prepare and implement day-to-day activities. - Must have a keen interest and sincere appreciation for children - Must be able to delegate duties to staff. - Represent The Salvation Army’s spiritual ministry and social mission in the Childcare Program - Current Certification in American Red Cross Standard First Aid, or its equivalent and CPR.   Direct an in-house after school/day camp program Monday-Friday for 40 children. - Responsible for working with Corps Officer and other staff to ensure the safety of the children enrolled in the program. - Conduct staff interviews orientation and training and initial and annual performance evaluations. - Supervise all childcare personnel and volunteers.  Report any misconduct of staff, volunteers, and/or parental concerns immediately to the Corps Officer/HR Manager. Administer disciplinary action as needed with consultation from the Human Resources  - Conduct weekly staff meetings to review plans, guidelines, and any challenge faced. - Delegate responsibilities to staff as needed. - Design program schedule and activities, develop policies and procedures, prepare, and annually update the Program Manual, Enrollment Form, Medical Form, Parent Manual, Attendance Sheets, etc., as needed - Bill agencies (i.e., DSS/ CRCC/ Department of Education, etc.) and remain informed about current childcare issues and act as an advocate for the Kids Club. - Monitor the Kids club budget and assist Corps Officers with the yearly revision. - Conduct parental and child interviews. Enroll children and maintain current and accurate files on each child. - Handle all child disciplinary action in accordance with the Program Manual.
