The Recreation and Program Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Community Center. This would include providing staff supervision, selling, and maintaining membership, schedules, and coordination of events. The Recreation & Program director will be responsible for developing, planning, managing and supervising athletic programs, fitness center operations, sport teams, leisure time recreation activities and organized recreational programs.
The Recreation & Program director will also work with Headquarters Development Department to obtain funding sources for existing and pilot programs dealing with national health issues such as obesity, geriatric mental and physical fitness, and children's health and fitness programs.

SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION:
This is a highly skilled generalist position which is responsible for the social services client intervention of the food pantry, emergency/direct client assistance program, provide longer recovery and POH case management services, and children/adult health home care management to clients identified through the Emergency Assistance Program, (EFA), other corps ministries, i.e., youth programs, service units and through community referrals/partnerships
Provide overall leadership and direction to the recruiting, processing, training and encouragement of local officers and other lay leaders in the Greater New York Division
The Leadership Development Director will be expected to spend time in the field not only during the week, but also on Sundays. The Leadership Development Director will need to become intimately aware of every corps in the command with respect to both current and potential lay leadership.
This position will run initially for a period of three years, to be renewed or discontinued.

Scope & Purpose of Position: Prepare and serve meals, maintain accurate records and files, order/purchase food and other items, inventory and track items delivered, store items, keep kitchen and storage areas clean and stocked, train employees and volunteers, respond to concerns, attend workshops and meetings, plan and implement menus, and ensure kitchen is in compliance with various regulations.
Under the supervision of the Shelter Director, the Intake Worker conducts the day-to-day activities and functions of the residence program.
The Supervisor - Social Services is responsible for the coordination of services for homeless families residing in family shelters. The Supervisor - Social Services is responsible for interfacing with the New York City Department of Homeless Services Staff, Shelter providers and relevant community-based organizations to enhance and ensure families are in receipt of optimal care and service coordination. The supervisor must promote and model best practices for shelter social service staff. The supervisor will lead in improving linkages to mental health and community-based services.
The Supervisor - Social Services is responsible for the overall supervision of the Social Workers. The Supervisor - Social Services is responsible for giving documented clinical hours to all Social Workers. The Supervisor - Social Services sets the standards of supervision that is an essential and integral part of the training and continuing education required for the skillful development of professional competent social workers.
The Supervisor - Social Services will guide staff in the development, implementation and achievement of program goals, including working with staff to develop intervention plans which may involve an array of training, conducting workshops, groups, facilitating feedback sessions with clients and community and linking clients to available resources.
The Supervisor - Social Services is responsible to oversee the work of the Social Workers which is: the completion of psychosocial assessments of complex families impacted by multiple systems, provide appropriate linkages for families to community based services, be able to work from a multi-disciplinary team approach to service, work within a crisis driven environment with a knowledge base of substance abuse and addiction, domestic violence, child maltreatment, trauma, and mental health conditions, provide education to other members of the team around clients’ psychosocial stressors and needs, to ensure positive outcomes for families as well as ensure that documentation of client progress is in compliance with agency guidelines.
Supervisors will handle administrative, operation, programmatic related issues that might affect Social Worker staff and will liaise with DHS staff; governmental agencies and community passed organizations to ensure all resources are made to families.
The LCSW will obtain ongoing professional development by the individual agency program, and the New York City Department of Homeless Services – Division of Family Services. The LCSW will be expected to provide qualitative and quantitative feedback to Department of Homeless Services (DHS) and DHS Service Providers to inform both policy and practice.
This is a 143 –bed facility located at 681 Clarkson Avenue Building 8, NY. Provide the safety and the well-being of clients residing in the facility as well as compliance with all rules and regulations. This position assumes the operational management of the facility in the absence of another manager on site, responds to all emergencies. Functions of the job include but are not limited to the duties listed in the job description.
The Case Manager provides supportive and direct intensive case management services to the homeless families residing in the Shelter. The Case Manager assesses the client’s needs and jointly develops a collaborative plan that addresses those needs. The Case Manager prepares the client for self-sufficiency and independent living and supports their transition back into the community. The Case Manager engages all clients and conferences with them when issues of noncompliance are identified. The Case Manager organizes case conferences and ensures that their clients are actively involved in their discharge planning.
The Housing Specialist assists homeless families in their pursuit of permanent housing. The Housing Specialist manages relationships with brokers, landlords, NYC housing, supportive housing, and any and all other housing options so that a steady stream of housing referrals can be accessed and provided to the families residing within the shelter. The Housing Specialist coordinates trips into the community to view available apartments, accompanies clients for intakes into different housing, and/or provides the clients with the means for viewing all housing options. The Housing Specialist conducts housing workshops in the program on the areas of program education, interviewing with a landlord, paying your bills, and any other topics deemed necessary to support movement and long-term placement into the community. The Housing Specialist works together with the case management team to ensure all clients are actively engaged in their own exit strategy and discharge plan or is referring the client for next step or involuntary transfer.
