The Salvation Army’s Springfield Corps is hiring a Program Coordinator to work Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
QUALIFCATIONS
- A college student, preferably a college graduate with an associate degree working towards a bachelor’s degree
- Experience in social work, psychology, interpersonal communication, or crisis/personal counseling preferred
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must be able to operate office equipment
- Must be able to effectively communicate, verbal and written
- Must be able to work independently, have confidence and be able to handle pressure
- Must be able to make decision that will ultimately affect people’s lives
Pay rate: $20/hr
Hours: 15 - 20 per week
The Program Coordinator assists the director with daily activities, review weekly lesson plans, coordinate with area colleges and graduate programs and recruit interns and volunteers.
- Work as needed as a liaison between the Salvation Army and program partners.
- Develop programs and course descriptions
- Recruit and recommend program speakers
- Process intakes and run class lists
- Schedule program activities
- Evaluate programs and make recommendations
- Submit payroll for the BTG program when needed
- Exercise judgment in choosing the approach to solve client’s problem by analysis of data and input from Director of Social Services or Program Director.
- Maintains a roster of community resources for referring clients to available services at other agencies.
- Supplies clients with information regarding services or programs within the Salvation Army
- Completes case notes for each client, which may include typing and filing.
- Maintains records according to agency regulation
- Attends meetings as directed.
- Completes any other related duties specified by supervisor or commanding officers.
- Maintain frequent contact with organizations, which directly influence the Army’s reputation or performance.
- Work is pre-planned by or approved by supervisor; progress checked at intervals.
- Perform other related duties as requested

The Bilingual Specialist provides supportive and direct intensive case management services to the homeless families residing in the Shelter. The Bilingual Specialist assesses the client’s needs and jointly develops a collaborative plan that addresses those needs. The Bilingual Specialist prepares the client for self-sufficiency and independent living and supports their transition back into the community. The Bilingual Specialist engages all clients and conferences with them when issues of noncompliance are identified. Kingsboro Men’s Shelter MICA Program is a 143-bed facility located at 681 Clarkson Avenue; Brooklyn NY where homeless men are provided with comprehensive services to facilitate their transition into a stable housing situation. SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Senior Care Manager will serve as supervisor of Pathway of Hope and Health Home Care Management in Oswego County. As Care Manager, SCM will carry a balanced caseload providing Pathway of Hope and HH Care Management to eligible families and individuals. As supervisor, the SCM will oversee the activities of Pathway of Hope and Health Homes case/care managers to assure the provision of high-quality, family-driven and youth guided service that is in accordance with the policies and regulations of The Salvation Army, grant funders, Lead Health Home, and the NYS Department of Health.
Senior Care Manager will be responsible for monitoring data quality across systems, track HH billing, and assist with reports/statistics as request or required for program compliance.

The POH Initiative entails case management over a period of 6-18 months of households with children who have a desire to change their trajectory of being in poverty. The focus of case management is to enable the families to resolve barriers to and work towards self-sufficiency which mainly includes their education and employment needs.
Case Management
- Provide services to the client family via the case management steps
- Maintain a case record accurately and timely in Service Point database system
- Track statistics and contingency fund uses
- Collaborate with the Divisional POH regional Coordinator and fellow POH case managers
Clerical
- Answer phone calls in a courteous manner and properly route all phone calls and taking messages when appropriate
- Verify appointments of visitors and admit only authorized persons, intentionally monitoring foot traffic and guide individuals to proper locations within the building.
- Maintain files of general Corps business and keep reception are in good order, printing, typing, copying, filing, stamping, and oversight of office supply inventory and processing orders as requested.
- Sort and route all incoming mail and process all outgoing mail. Including acting as signatory for deliveries and make sure receiving individual is notified.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiar with principles of case management
- Strong organizational & time management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills & discretion in working with a diverse population.
- Experience with Microsoft Office – Word, Excel
- Experience with Camp Minder (training provided by TSA)
- Requires a high level of initiative and the ability to work independently.
- Practice high level of confidentiality, discretion, and judgment
- Knowledge of community helpful
- Bilingual in Spanish. Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
