Disaster Case Management is a time-limited process by which a skilled helper (Disaster Case Manager) partners with a disaster affected individual or family (Client). This is a longer-term relationship in which the case manager identifies multiple needs and barriers through an intake, needs assessment, and interview to plan for and achieve realistic goals for recovery following a disaster. The Disaster Case Manager will serve as a primary point of contact working with individuals and families who are recovering from COVID-19 related needs. Reporting to the Divisional Director of Philanthropy, the Director of Major Gifts is a new position created in a robust and growing fundraising and marketing team. The Director of Major Gifts will work with a portfolio of 75 high net worth donors and manage the major gifts team, currently 3.5 staff. The Salvation Army’s Greater New York region covers all of NYC, Long Island, and the Lower Hudson Valley, as far North as Kingston, NY.  The Director of Major Gifts will build a portfolio from the ground up, with a strategically identified prospect pool screened and prioritized by CCS Fundraising. All prospects are current donors, never individually cultivated, and capable of making five, six, and seven figure gifts. The Director of Major Gifts will also supervise the major gifts team, currently consisting of two major gift officers, a major gift assistant, and one individual devoted to mid-level giving part-time. The Director of Major Gifts will provide mentorship and strategic guidance for the gift officers in their cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors. The team is in the process of adapting a moves management system, and the Director of Major Gifts will support the gift officers in adjusting to the implementation.

Under the supervision of the Corps Officer and Case Worker, the cook is primary responsible for preparing and serving all food in the center and for maintaining the kitchen in a sanitary and efficient condition. Additionally, the cook is responsible for the supervision and training of other staff assigned to kitchen or food service responsibilities.  Follow individual work schedule provided by the supervisor to indicate specific responsibilities and the time scheduled for them. Cooperates in total staff effort designed to improve the center’s services. Participates in periodic individual conferences, trainings, workshops, certifications, and regular staff meetings as scheduled by the supervisor. These will be called when changes are planned in the soup kitchen program which affect the cook so that discussions and suggestions for improving the services may be shared among the supervisor and staff. Such meeting will also be called when policy or changes are be made affecting budgetary needs for food and supplies or rearrangement of space. Participation in staff parties and attendance is parents meeting are also encouraged but not required, as a means of promoting a feeling of staff unity and proving opportunities for information exchange of information between parents and total staff.
