THE SALVATION ARMY HARBOR LIGHT CENTER offers treatment for men over the age of 18 who are struggling with substance use issues. After a detailed phone assessment with the individual is completed, determination for admission is identified. There is no cost for treatment to the individual. Treatment can last up to six (6) months and beyond in some cases
The Residential Therapist- Alcohol and Other Drug position is responsible for all aspects of resident care throughout their treatment experience. Successfully manage an active case load of (8) eight alcohol and other drug residents of the Harbor Light Center program. Assist in all aspects of evaluation, assessment, intake, ongoing (individual and group) counseling, and transporting of clients to appointments when necessary. Utilize DDAP Licensing regulations for all documentation and treatment requirements.

The Pathway of Hope Regional Coordinator is responsible for providing oversight of the Pathway of Hope (POH) initiative across Corps (Community Centers) and Corps POH-specific personnel. This oversight includes but is not limited to: policy adherence and addendums; data collection, entry, and quality auditing and improvement; data analysis and data-driven decision making; evidence-based practice; program implementation and sustainability; personnel training; case consultation and troubleshooting; resource acquisition, coordination, communication, and dissemination; cross-functional collaboration; and multi-level representation. POH-specific oversight is to be conducted in collaboration with Corps Officers in a capacity that enhances the functions of The Salvation Army Corps within the Greater New York Division, under the supervision of the Director of Social Services and in collaboration with The Territorial Pathway of Hope Coordinator.

- Must be at least sixteen years of age
- Must complete Camp Staff Orientation

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Associates Degree or bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Guidance, Human Services, Nursing, Psychology, Physical Education, Recreation, Child Psychology, the Arts, Social Work, Sociology or Child Care preferred.
- Minimum of six months experience working or volunteering with school age children.
- Experience with Christian Education Programs for school age children such as Sunday School or Vacation Bible Study, strongly preferred.
- Must have a keen interest and sincere appreciation for children and able to relate well with individuals with varying needs.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Associates Degree or bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Guidance, Human Services, Nursing, Psychology, Physical Education, Recreation, Child Psychology, the Arts, Social Work, Sociology or Child Care strongly preferred.
- Minimum of six months experience working or volunteering with school age children.
- Must have experience with Christian Education Programs for school age children such as Sunday School or Vacation Bible Study.
- Must have a keen interest and sincere appreciation for children.

- Responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a Senior Center in accordance with the Nassau County and The Salvation Army.
