REPORTS TO: Corps Officer
SCHEDULE: Part-Time (25 hours weekly)
FUNCTION: The Salvation Army Office Worker will be responsible for handling phone calls, speaking to clients as they come in and either assisting them with their needs or properly referring them to other agencies as available. Oversight will include the Food Pantry, Clothing Closet and volunteers from the community.
Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt, 35 hours/week , M-F, 11:00 – 6:30 p.m. during the school year,
8:30 a.m.-3:30 during the summer day camp program and 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. when program is not in session.
Responsible to develop curriculum and distribute lesson plans to site coordinators, to conduct and monitor Curriculum Based Measurement Assessments on student participants, to maintain a database to monitor the results of assessments, and to develop and implement appropriate academic intervention strategies for those students determined to be “at risk” academically for their grade level. Provide administrative support as needed to the Education Coordinator and assist with student recruitment

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
Perform the duties of the Summer Camp Assistant in the Zone Adventure Camp Program from 6/4/2019 through 7/27/2019. Render ministerial, outreach and administrative services a “The Zone” Adventure Camp Counselor is to the engage the East Cleveland Community, recognizing their spiritual, emotional, physical, and social needs – making full use of the Corps and community resources under the direction of the Corps Officers as part of the East Cleveland Corps Ministry Team. Also your function is to assist the Corps Officers with the day to day operations of the corps and to support and maintain the policies, procedures and overall well-being of the ministry, within the vision and goals of The Salvation Army, its Officers and the Corps.
Completes all bookkeeping functions for multiple corps from Divisional Headquarters.

Position Overview: The Cook will manage an inventory of food, maintain a clean, safe and sanitary kitchen and storage room. The cook will shop for food and prepare meals for Wednesday and Thursday lunches.

Scope & Purpose of Position:
Provide direct service to clients, maintain organization of food pantry, perform clerical work, and coordinate volunteers.

To provide day, evening, and/or overnight coverage including weekends and holidays at The Ethel T. Chamberlain permanent supportive housing and women’s shelter. Responsible for the supervision of residents and the general management of the shelter. Resident Assistant insures a safe, secure, comfortable, and supportive environment in a manner consistent with the philosophy, policies, and procedures of the program and agency. Resident Assistants will be scheduled to work in one program or the other for their shift and are responsible for the tasks appropriate for the program they are assigned to that day.
Bridging the Gap between Youth and Community Services Director
B.A. in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related field
A minimum of one-year experience working with at risk youth and knowledge of the juvenile system
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Experience in developing and coordinating small youth groups
- Program Experience preferred
- Strong Networking Skills are essential
- Preferred bi-lingual (Spanish and English)
Develop & direct the Bridging the Gap program in Haverhill and Lawrence
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the development and continuing enhancement of the Bridging the Gap programs
Develop a strong network of referrals of at risk/high risk youth from appropriate agencies
Interview prospective referrals and their parents/guardians to evaluate client matches for the program
Lead classes two days a week in both Haverhill and Lawrence
Develop group lesson plans for each session
Coordinate program including speakers and guests to enhance program curriculum
Implement and enhance Bridging the Gap curriculum in keeping with the values of The Salvation Army
Implement and refine follow-up procedures to evaluate effectiveness of the program
Recruit and supervise Bridging the Gap interns
Develop funding opportunities to eventually make the program self sufficient
Network with community members/professionals to improve The Salvation Army’s standing in the community as well as develop new opportunities for partnerships and service delivery
Work with the Corps Officers to provide spiritual outreach to the youth served.
Consult and train with the Divisional Director
Provide monthly statistics and records
Follow up with graduates and families to evaluate program success
Perform other related duties as assigned

The Special Events and Public Relations Manager is responsible for assisting the Director of Development in achieving fund raising, resource development and donor retention and cultivation goals for Syracuse Area Services. The Special Events and Public Relations Manager works as part of the development team in providing support, resources and project management and provides oversite to the SAS team in the absence of the Director of Development.
Reporting directly to the Program Manager, the Case Manager will provide case management services to Genesis House clients during their residence at the shelter and up to one year after they have left the program.
