Overview

Location: Canton, MA

Pay Range: Up to $70K per year depending upon qualifications and experience

        Full-Time, Exempt

        35 hours/week

 

The Senior Field Manager will assist the Director in the training of new Field Representatives, Liaison between The Salvation Army Service Extension Department and volunteers, businesses, donors, potential funders, and people in need in the area assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Highly motivated
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills
  • Must be cleared to drive personal vehicle for business purposes.
  • Must be able to lift/carry 30-40 lbs (kettle equipment, signs, etc.)
  • Provide evidence of successful fundraising (or increase in sales).
  • Ability to use MS Office including Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the non-profit community
  • Experience in communications and success in fundraising.
  • Experience in recruiting and working with volunteers and volunteer groups.
  • 3-5 years’ experience successfully supervising others.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business and/or bachelor’s degree in communications

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

a) Assist the Director in the training, orientation, and supervision of Field Representatives

b) Strengthen field operations with new recruitment and training of volunteers and training/re-training new Field Staff as needed

c) Work with the Director on winning funding proposals.

d) Assist in trouble-shooting any issues/potential issues to bring about positive results including strengthening service units and increasing awareness of service unit volunteers across the division.

e) Provide feedback to the Director on the development of new field staff as well as additional input to enhance training and orientation needed for performance evaluations.

f) Assist in coaching new(er) field staff as directed/needed to improve skill sets necessary for growth and development.

g) Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers for assigned service units required.

h) Submit required reports on time.

i) Assist in the development of other funding proposals.

j) Provide regular and weekly postings to department social media.

k) Attend staff, unit, community, and other meetings as needed.

l) Coordinate through service unit committees all fundraising programs; including kettles, letters to donors, special events, etc.

m) Assist others and meet individual fundraising goals.

n) Communicate with funding sources as needed.

o) Fulfill speaking engagements promoting the visibility of The Salvation Army programs and services.

p) Provide educational and informational orientation to volunteers and donors.

q) Take the initiative to identify community needs and develop programs to address them.

r) Perform emergency assistance tasks, i.e., services to clients, special projects and seasonal activities.

s) Perform office and clerical duties when necessary.

t) Is part of The Salvation Army Emergency Disaster work, as requested.

u) Perform other related duties as assigned by your supervisor.
