Location/Dept.: The Salvation Army Kroc Center (SAKC), Philadelphia, PA
Availability: Immediate
Schedule: Full Time. Must be willing and able to work weekends and evenings as may be required in performance of duties or as requested to support the ongoing operations of the Kroc Center.

Salary Grade: $19.30 to $22.98 Status: 76 Non-exempt

Position Description: The Kroc Aquatics Supervisor (KAS) will work in conjunction with the Kroc Aquatics Manager to assure successful operation of the aquatics department. This role includes (but is not limited to) day-to-day oversight of the department’s staffing component, execution of the center’s swim lessons program, use of the pool areas by special groups, continuing education offerings (i.e., CPR/AED, WSI certification), and class exercise offerings (in conjunction with the fitness department). The KAS will work with the Aquatics Manager to maintain high standards of service, facility cleanliness, and maintenance and will assist in preparing the center for inspections and licensing of facilities. The KAS will work in conjunction with Aquatics leadership and the Operations team to establish department plans and financial goals related to ancillary services and, with the entire aquatics team, will strive to meet these plans on an annual basis
Requirements: Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, Sports and/or Recreation Management, or related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in the development and execution of successful aquatic programs Willingness and understanding of the need to work nontraditional hours in support of the programs/services offered. Able to work with all ethnic and socio-economic populations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent management and leadership skills. Current Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and WSI certifications. Must complete PA State Mandatory Reporter Course. As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check. Must have an understanding of, and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
