Under the supervision of The Director of Development, the Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for the overall recruitment, tracking general management and retention of The Salvation Army - Rochester Area Service (RAS) volunteers. The position requires the standardization and coordination of activities related to recruitment, training oversight and general management of volunteers. The position requires a person with the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Position requires creativity, flexibility, accuracy and excellent interpersonal skills. This position is responsible for recruitment of volunteers for events and programs, not the management of events.
The Homework Counselor works under the supervision of the Corps Officers (CO), promoting social, emotional and physical development of children enrolled in the program, while completing homework tasks from school. The Counselor is responsible for leading and overseeing all recreational/educational and homework activities of children enrolled in the program.
