Reporting to the Commanding Officers, the Office Manager/ Social Ministries Coordinator will serve in a vital community ministry role for this corps service area.  She/ He will be integrally involved in the ministry of the corps and in the promotion of the Mission of The Salvation Army.  The Office Manager/ Social Ministry Coordinator should remain teachable and possess a passion to further the cause of The Salvation Army.   The role will oversee all aspects of the food pantry program including but not limited to ordering, stocking shelves, preparing bags and scheduling of client appointments, under the direction of the Corps Officers.  This role will manage the soup kitchen program including but not limited to ordering, stocking, equipping the program with food supplies and resources which also includes scheduling and training volunteers.  This role includes managing volunteer opportunities for community stakeholders at The Salvation Army Riverhead Corps.  He/She will assist in growing social ministries program here at The Salvation Army Corps as indicated below in general/ specific responsibilities.

The Care Manager will be required to document all contact related to client’s case in an electronic health record and monitors the need for additional interventions based on client need.

Under the supervision of the Corps Officer and Case Worker, the cook is primary responsible for preparing and serving all food in the center and for maintaining the kitchen in a sanitary and efficient condition. Additionally, the cook is responsible for the supervision and training of other staff assigned to kitchen or food service responsibilities.  Follow individual work schedule provided by the supervisor to indicate specific responsibilities and the time scheduled for them. Cooperates in total staff effort designed to improve the center’s services. Participates in periodic individual conferences, trainings, workshops, certifications, and regular staff meetings as scheduled by the supervisor. These will be called when changes are planned in the soup kitchen program which affect the cook so that discussions and suggestions for improving the services may be shared among the supervisor and staff. Such meeting will also be called when policy or changes are be made affecting budgetary needs for food and supplies or rearrangement of space. Participation in staff parties and attendance is parents meeting are also encouraged but not required, as a means of promoting a feeling of staff unity and proving opportunities for information exchange of information between parents and total staff.
