SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Evangeline Booth Miracle Home is an 18-bed shelter that provides emergency housing to homeless women and families of women and children. The Resident Aide position assures a quality service to everyone who comes into the program. This position provides emotional support, information and referral to community services, and creates a warm and safe environment for the residents. The Resident Aide ensures that the residents’ basic needs are met, and that the daily operations of the program are instituted in a manner consistent with the philosophy and policies/procedures of the program and agency. The position provides awake staff coverage for all shifts of the residential program, monitoring residents and assisting in clerical/data and billing reporting responsibilities, household management tasks including facility cleaning, laundry and other duties as needed.

Overview: As we are preparing to admit additional families to our Emergency Family Shelter we need to add to our Team of Resident Assistants. This position requires outstanding individuals who are interested in helping our clients get back on their feet again! Details: We need to add several new team members who can work a flexible part-time work schedule. Weekends are involved during the daytime shift of 8 AM-4 PM. There are also shifts available on the Overnight Team. The ON Team reports in at Midnight and will work until the following morning at 8 AM.
Work Schedules: Your work schedule can be flexible and we make every effort to give our Resident Assistants the schedule that provides them with the work-life balance we all need while covering the hours of operation!

Under the supervision of the Corps Officer and Case Worker, the cook is primary responsible for preparing and serving all food in the center and for maintaining the kitchen in a sanitary and efficient condition. Additionally, the cook is responsible for the supervision and training of other staff assigned to kitchen or food service responsibilities. Follow individual work schedule provided by the supervisor to indicate specific responsibilities and the time scheduled for them. Cooperates in total staff effort designed to improve the center’s services. Participates in periodic individual conferences, trainings, workshops, certifications, and regular staff meetings as scheduled by the supervisor. These will be called when changes are planned in the soup kitchen program which affect the cook so that discussions and suggestions for improving the services may be shared among the supervisor and staff. Such meeting will also be called when policy or changes are be made affecting budgetary needs for food and supplies or rearrangement of space.
Participation in staff parties and attendance is parents meeting are also encouraged but not required, as a means of promoting a feeling of staff unity and proving opportunities for information exchange of information between parents and total staff.
The Program Director will work with the Staff in managing the program in adherence to the New York State School-Age Child Care regulations, as well as government contracts. He/she will monitor and support his/her staff and implement student curriculum activities. Familiarity with the student population served is essential.

Scope & Purpose of Position: Provides supervision, reporting, and support services to clients in a low barrier residential facility that promotes a Housing First philosophy. Facilitate an emotional and physical environment conducive to enhancing positive client morale and stabilization by ensuring the security and safety of the facility, maintaining appropriate records in addition to ongoing written and verbal communication with the supervisor in relationship to daily client activities, and support and encourage clients in achieving goals outlined in their housing plans.
