Position overview:
The Resident Case Manager will serve in a support role to the Corps Officers, under the direct supervision of the Emergency Housing Supervisor. They will be intimately and integrally involved in the daily operations of the Norristown Family Residence, understanding the need to provide support from a trauma-informed perspective.
The ideal candidate will remain teachable and interested in their ongoing professional development.

Scope & Purpose of Position: Responsible for the processing and tracking of grants, contracts, and agreements, as well as various other funding relationship documents that help further support programs and services provided by The Salvation Army within the Southern New England Division. This includes working with funders, Corps Officers, and staff from The Salvation Army to continue to build upon existing funder relationships. Responsible for database gift entry related to grants and contracts.
The Emergency Services Deputy Director for Operations provides operational support to all divisional preparedness, response, and recovery efforts. In this role, also serves as a liaison with partner networks including local, state and federal government and non-governmental partners as requested by the Director. In addition, the Deputy Director for Operations manages Social Service Response Program staff, ensuring proper integration of Corps based social ministries.

The Group Exercise Instructor is responsible for presenting a positive and competent image of The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center through quality fitness programs designed to meet the needs of the community.
Qualifications
- High School GED required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in a related field of study
- Must have at least one year of experience in teaching group exercise classes
- Must be certified through ACE, ACSM, or other approved nationally accredited organization.
- Must have an Associate’s degree or nationally recognized group exercise certification in area of instruction at date of hire.
- Must have or be able to obtain CPR/First Aide certification within first 30 days of employment.
- Must have ability to work and relate well with people.
- Must be able to lift and carry 40lbs.
- Meet all health and safety regulations as defined by the Health Department as well as The Salvation Army.
- Must be in good physical, capable of meeting the demands of the gymnasium and athletic field programs.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
- Must be able to speak before large and small groups.
Responsibilities
- Instruct with sound principles and expert skills in the area(s) of special certification such as Zumba, Pilates, Yoga, Cycle, and other specialty certifications as required to a diverse group of individuals.
- Be available to commit to instruct classes on quarterly schedule.
- Must teach and model all fitness industry safety standards.
- Create programs geared to individual and group needs.
- Provide participant guidance for development.
- Critique and give feedback to participants regarding individual progress.
- Must complete a minimum of two continuing education credits per year and keep certifications current. Expense is at the cost of the employee.
- Group Exercise Instructors are responsible for renewing their certifications within 90 days of expiration to avoid being removed from the schedule. All new certifications must be given to the manager.
- Assure music selection adheres to mission of the Salvation Army.
- Observe classes taught by other instructors to provide feedback and suggestions on how to improve quality of instruction.
- Employee must give at minimum a two-week notice (if feasible) for any changes to their scheduled class (s).
- Ensure dance studio, cycle room, or class room is left in clean manner after each class. Instructor is responsible discarding any trash, paper towels, or gym wipes left on equipment or floor. Instructor is responsible for reporting any major spills or hazardous conditions to Fitness & Wellness Manager.
- Perform other assignments/duties as directed within the scope of the position.
The Special Events Manager – Territorial Music is a key team member in the infrastructure of the Music Department. This person will be the main organizer for most events, ensuring that all individuals involved have all the information needed to come to an event. They will serve as the manager for the New York Staff Band and assist in the planning and carrying out of Unbound and Eastern Territory Staff Songster events. They will also assist in the managing of the New York Staff Band and USA East Music websites and social media channels.
The Special Events Manager reports to the Territorial Music Secretary.
The Pathway of Hope Regional Coordinator is responsible for providing oversight of the Pathway of Hope (POH) initiative across Corps (Community Centers) and Corps POH-specific personnel. This oversight includes but is not limited to: policy adherence and addendums; data collection, entry, and quality auditing and improvement; data analysis and data-driven decision making; evidence-based practice; program implementation and sustainability; personnel training; case consultation and troubleshooting; resource acquisition, coordination, communication, and dissemination; cross-functional collaboration; and multi-level representation. POH-specific oversight is to be conducted in collaboration with Corps Officers in a capacity that enhances the functions of The Salvation Army Corps within the Greater New York Division, under the supervision of the Director of Social Services and in collaboration with The Territorial Pathway of Hope Coordinator.

The Aquatics Manager will be responsible for the entire natatorium at the Kroc Center in Boston, MA. This includes programming, staffing, operations and safety of the aquatic area, outdoor splash area, locker rooms, family changing rooms, meeting spaces and associated mechanical spaces.
- Assists in hiring, training and scheduling qualified lifeguards, instructors and all other pool staff; directly supervises lifeguards, instructors, and other aquatic staff.
- Maintaining the prescribed standards of the chosen risk management organization to include, but limited to: certification, in-service training, accident/incident report tracking.
- Track and maintain appropriate chemical levels in all bodies of water based upon state or national standards in conjunction with US Facilities
- Conducts training of staff in water safety, First Aid, and/or CPR; ensures that all certifications of staff is maintained. Ensures high program standards are followed; provides regular in-service training to staff as needed.
- Conducts training of All TSARJCCC staff in First Aid, CPR and AED.
- Development and posting of lifeguard deck rotational system for monitoring the pool and all other pool deck operations.
- Performs regular safety inspections of pool and equipment to reduce hazards and to provide maximum safety to the patrons.
- Understanding of and appreciation for the mission, program and activities of The Salvation Army.
- Creating and maintaining an inviting environment for the community at large.
- Programming of all aquatic spaces to include but not limited to: lap swim, open swim, swim lessons, group exercise, competitive and non-competitive events and pool rentals. The position will also work with the other “programmers” in the building so as to integrate as many different aspects of the facility into as many programs as possible.
- Responsible for preparing an annual budget and operating within those fiscal parameters. Also heavily involved in the capital improvement plan and replacement schedule for aquatic equipment.
- Work with US Facilities regarding the monitoring of the aquatic facility which includes the HVAC, filtration and sanitary systems. Work with the US Facilities and together prescribe preventative maintenance and scheduling weekly, monthly and annual cleaning of the aquatic amenities.
- Integrating the aquatics area into the facility as whole and being able to coordinate what is taking place in the portion of the building along with the building so as to avoid schedule overlap and exceeding facility capacity.
- Surveys patrons and evaluates programs to determine public needs and how to increase program efficiency and effectiveness; receives patron complaints and suggestions and responds appropriately.
- This position will serve as an evening or weekend manager on duty for the entire facility along with the rest of the full-time professional staff as scheduled
- Perform other duties as assigned by the administrator(s) and Chief Operations Executive and more appropriately defined in the operations manual.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Parks, Recreation and Tourism, or Recreation Management
- Three – five (3-5) years of progressive full-time supervisory experience
- Experience in non-profit organization preferred
- Lifeguard Instructor Certification with either American Red Cross or Ellis & Associates (Lifeguard Instructor Trainer preferred)
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certificate required
- Proficient with current Microsoft software computer programs including Word, Excel, Access, Publisher, PowerPoint, e-mail, internet, and standard office equipment and systems
- Must be able to communicate (written & verbal effectively in English
- Bi-lingual preferred
- Considerable knowledge in planning, organizing, and implementing aquatics programs.
- Working knowledge of swimming pool filters, mechanical systems and the use of chemicals for swimming pool and water chemistry.
