SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday (35 hours) and “on-call” coverage 2nd shift and emergency weekend/holidays as assigned.
FUNCTION: The primary responsibility of the CUSTODIAN/LIGHT MAINTENANCE person is to perform various cleaning tasks and light maintenance on a daily basis. Other duties include, but not limited to, responding to emergency alarms (medical, fire & security), and other related tasks.

FUNCTION: The primary responsibility of the MAINTENANCE/UTILITY TECHNICIAN I is to perform daily work order repairs, preventative maintenance tasks and regular maintenance functions. Other duties include weekly and periodic maintenance tasks, grounds upkeep, unit re-conditioning, custodial duties, and other tasks as assigned by Facilities Manager and/or Administration. Cover “on-call” and occasional emergency weekend and holidays.

About Us: The Salvation Army Eliza Shirley House provides emergency housing services for homeless families (women and children) 365 days of the year. We provide temporary accommodation for families for approximately 30 to 60 days at which time they are placed into long term City of Philadelphia housing programs. During their stay at the Eliza Shirley House, our goal is to help stabilize residents, as many needs more than food and housing. Our educational programs help them become more financially independent. Additionally, we reach out to them emotionally and spiritually. Position Overview:

SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Care Manager 3 (high acuity) provides outreach and enrollment services to children presumed to meet eligibility requirements of New York State’s Children’s Health Home program. They gather assessments and enter documentation that confirms eligibility and identifies areas requiring supportive services. The Aquatics Lead is responsible for the safety of all patrons and the aquatics facility, supervise the lifeguard staff, and open and close the facility as required. The Aquatics Lead will also teach group water fitness, learn to swim and private classes.
Qualifications
- American Red Cross Certification in Lifeguard Training and CPR/AED/FA for the Professional Rescuer
- U.S. Water Fitness Instructor Certification or another approved nationally accredited organization preferred
- American Red Cross Certification Water Safety Instructor
- Willingness to complete Water Park Lifeguarding course
- Meet The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center of Boston skill standards for Swim Instructors.
- Be dependable, alert and able to interact with people of all ages and from varying backgrounds in a positive manner.
- Two (2) to four (4) years’ experience as a lifeguard with management/administrative duties, required
- Six (6) months to One (1) year experience as Lifeguard and certified swim instructor
