  BELL RINGER  $13.50 per hour (hours vary)   When on duty, you are an individual worker representing The Salvation Army. At no time is there to be company/visitors near the workstation.   Be neat, friendly and courteous always. Do not accost people and solicit donations. Your bell will carry your message. Express appreciation for donations.   If you have to leave your workstation to visit a rest room, do not leave the kettle on the tripod. Leave the kettle with customer service.   At no time should there be packages, bags, etc. sitting around the kettle area.   Eating, drinking or smoking near the workstation could jeopardize your employment. If you are working a five (5) or six (6) hour shift and feel the need for refreshment or relief from severe weather, you may not take more than two fifteen-minute breaks away from the station without accounting for them on your time report. Again, do not take the kettle with you.   If you take a longer break for a meal during the shift, the specific times and elapsed time must be reported on the weekly time sheet. Again, do not leave the kettle unattended.

The Social Service Director will also manage the Worcester Citadel Food Pantry and Good Neighbor Energy Fund. 7. Duties and ResponsibilitiesProgram Development a. Collaborate with and support Sally’s Place Director, Staff and Cliental in assessing, engaging, and developing case management when needed i. Identify and interact with families and individuals to assess their requirements, find internal and external social services programs that would assist them, assess their most urgent needs, appraise the situation, and listen to the clients’ concerns. ii. Develop a detailed plan of action to address identified root causes and needs of eligible clients, set goals and outcomes for said clients, and find necessary resources to meet the goals. iii. Establishing and strengthening solid community collaborations with outside agencies, and serving as a client advocate, enhancing a collaborative relationship to maximize the family’s ability to make informed decisions. iv. Consult with other external agencies to provide support services and resources. v. Keep comprehensive records of clients’ progress throughout the process, including every call, referral, and home visit to track a family’s success. vi. Input accurate and complete data for all contacts with clients into the social services database and required data tracking into Service Point database. Participate in required social service, counseling, and other appropriate TSA trainings. vii. Stay in touch with clients to ensure the services were beneficial and that their needs are still met after pointing clients in the right direction for services. viii. Maintain confidentiality, respect privacy, and preserve the clients’ routine and independence as much as possible. ix. Recognize spiritual needs of persons which may require referral to the Corps Officers (who are ordained ministers of The Salvation Army).b. Represent The Salvation Army Worcester Citadel in community agency meetings and Divisional Headquarters committees as appropriate. c. Create and maintain regional documentation for client files including databases, applications, correspondence, and referrals. d. Help identify new funding sources for social service programming.Delivery of Social Services e. Coordinate and deliver client assistance services. f. Provide case management for clients of Food Pantry, Sally’s Place, after School Programs, Church or walk in clients as determined to be appropriate. g. Responsible for case management, outcomes and goals created and maintained. h. Identify and manager social service volunteers and interns. i. Coordinate and assist in all seasonal programs such as Holiday assistance, Adopt A Family, Angel Tree, Back to School, Summer with and Camp Wonderland working in cooperation with the Corps Officers and DHQ staff as appropriate. j. Develop and maintain a roster of community resources for referrals.Management of Social Services k. Ensure that all social service programs are well maintained and in compliance with The Salvation Army and regulatory agency standards. l. Submit monthly statistical and funding reports for the Worcester Citadel. m. Collaborate with Worcester Citadel Officers and Administrative Staff in seeking/maintaining opportunities for funding for existing programs and all new programmatic efforts. n. Represent The Salvation Army and participate in community agency meetings. o. Collaborate with the Divisional Social Services Director for guidance, supportive service, and technical assistance. p. Other duties as assigned.The Salvation Army’s Mission Statement The Salvation Army, an international movement, is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. The Social Worker is responsible for the overall delivery and coordination of services for homeless families residing in family tier II shelters and/or family hotels. The Social Worker is responsible for interfacing with the New York City Department of Homeless Services Staff, shelter providers, and relevant community-based organizations to enhance and ensure families are in receipt of optimal care and service coordination. The Social Worker is responsible for the completion of psychosocial assessments of complex families impacted by multiple systems. The Social Worker will work with these systems and facilitate appropriate linkages for families to community-based services. The Social Worker must be able to work from a multi-disciplinary team approach to service provision. The position calls for an individual able to work within a crisis driven environment with a knowledge base of substance abuse and addiction, domestic violence, child maltreatment, trauma, and mental health conditions. The Social Worker will provide education to other members of the team around clients’ psychosocial stressors and needs, to ensure positive outcomes for families. The Social Worker will obtain ongoing professional development by the individual agency program, and the New York City Department of Homeless Services – Division of Family Services. The Social Worker will be expected to provide qualitative and quantitative feedback to the Department of Homeless Services (DHS) and DHS Service Providers to inform both policy and practice.
