Overview

The Salvation Army’s South End Corps is hiring a Children’s Program Director and offers excellent benefit package to eligible employees including:

South End Corps – 1500 Washington Street, Boston, MA

Hours:  40 hours/week

Pay Rate:  $24/hr to $26.24/hr

 

Direct an in-house childcare program, Monday through Friday for a minimum of thirty-five (35) children.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of six months (1 year preferred) experience working with school age children. 
  • Experience with Christian Education Programs for school age children such as Sunday School or Vacation Bible Study preferred
  • Must have a keen interest and sincere appreciation for children.
  • Must be able to plan, prepare and implement the day-to-day activities.
  • Must be able to delegate duties to staff
  • Current Certification in American Red Cross Standard First Aid, or its equivalent and CPR.
  • The Director shall be at least 21 years of age and meet one of the following sets of requirements.
  1. Have a Bachelor’s Degree in any field or Associate’s Degree in any of the fields listed in 102 CMR 7.32(2)(a)1; and a Director I qualification and have eighteen months working with school age children; and have six months administrative experience or have evidence of satisfactory completion of at least nine credits in management or administrative subject areas from an accredited institution of higher education, or
  2. Have a high school diploma and has at least two seasons previous experience as part of the administrative staff of a recreational camp for children or has successfully completed a course in camping administration such as those offered by national professional camping associations, national agencies, or their equivalent.
