Overview

Title: Warehouse/Donation Helper                                                                

Location: Lock Haven Warehouse/ Thrift Store

Reports To: Thrift Store/ Warehouse Manager & Corps Officer

Availability: Immediate

Schedule: FT 8AM to 4:30PM

Salary and Grade: $9.18 per hour; 70 Non-exempt

Position Overview:

To assist the Warehouse/Donation Coordinator in all functions of Warehouse/Donation Responsibilities.  Work as a Team Member of the Thrift Store.

Responsibilities

  • Meet weekly/daily with Warehouse/Donation Coordinator to communicate & coordinate weekly/daily schedule, upcoming events, pick-ups, projects, etc.
  • Empty the Donation Bins (4 @ Corps & 1 @ Walker’s Store)
  • Bail Clothing/Rags
  • Keep Warehouse Area & Truck clean
  • Assist with loading the Rag Truck as needed
  • Assist with Delivery & distribution of food when needed
  • Deliver ALL Donations to the Thrift Store
  • Assist with Donation pickups
  • Assist with Corps, Thrift Store, & Warehouse Projects when needed
  • Assist with snow removal of all properties when needed
  • Perform related duties as assigned

  • Must be able to accept constructive criticism
  • Must have ability to be kind, courteous, & understanding when working with others
  • Must have good working relationship with employees, volunteers, & Corps Officers
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Must be dependable & take pride in your work
  • Must be able to adapt to change of schedule
  • As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter.
  • Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check.
  • Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
