Department: Pottstown Corps

Availability of Position: Immediate

Schedule: Part Time: 24-29 hours per week

Reporting Relationship: Corps Officers

Salary and Grade: $10.00 per hour; 71 Non Exempt

 Position Overview:  The main goal of an office manager is to ensure that the office operates smoothly and efficiently. 


Description of Position:       

The function of the office manager includes but not limited to, greeting visitors and staff, answering, screening and directing all calls, and taking messages.  This position will also direct incoming mail, maintain office supply inventory and must acquire a full knowledge of all services provided by The Salvation Army Pottstown programs.  The office manager will be responsible for the food pantry registration and other duties associated with record keeping.  The office manager will also work directly with Officers and administration to provide support and handle any other duties as assigned.

  • Self-starter and have exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Bilingual encouraged
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • The ability to act and think promptly and professionally in varied situations.
  • Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 required that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check & FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check.
  • Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
