Overview

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

  • Responsible for overall maintenance, property upkeep and vehicle upkeep

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES

  • Maintain inventory and report to office manager for supply order
  • Set up rooms each morning to be used for daytime programs
  • Dust and Mop all floors
  • Vacuum all carpets and mats
  • Clean all restrooms daily (public, learning zone and staff)
    • Empty trash
    • Clean and disinfects sinks, toilets and floor
    • Clean mirrors
    • Clean and disinfect walls and partitions
    • Refill paper towels, toilet paper and soap

 

  • Take instructions and guidance from how the cleaning schedule will be issued
  • Clean all windows, glass doors and glass panels on each office/room doors
  • Empty trash in all offices, multipurpose rooms and learning zone
    • Disinfect all trash cans as needed
  • Dust mop and damp mop gym floors and remove scuff marks after activities
  • Buff all floors as needed (weekly)
  • Maintain exterior of the building (mow grass, remove debris, snow removal on sidewalks and spread salt in snow weather
  • Anything else requested by supervisor
  • PROPERTY- responsible for property upkeep
  • VEHICLES-maintenance and upkeep of all corps vehicle (weekly)
  • Clean administrate office daily (see office manager for access)
  • Clean lobby daily
  • Clean lobby chair (ones a week)
  • Make sure to use clean tools (mod head, mop bucket water, rags, sponges, etc.)

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Work experience a plus
  • High school diploma
  • Good communication and people skills
  • Able to take direction
  • Self-starter

 

SPECIAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISRATIONS

  • Driver license
  • Handyman skills a plus

 

MODELING SKILLS

  • Speaks positively about the program, staff and The Salvation Army.
  • Verbalizes pro-social thinking using respectful language, tone of voice and body language.
  • Display pro-social behavior.
  • Maintains appropriate boundaries with clients and employees.
