Render ministerial, outreach and administrative services as the Youth Ministries Coordinator to the Cleveland Miles Park Community. Recognizing their spiritual, emotional, physical, and social needs – making full use of the Corps and community resources under the direction of the Corps Officers as part of the Cleveland Miles Park Corps ministry team.  You are to assist the Corps Officers with the day to day operations of the Corps and to support and maintain the policies, procedures and overall well-being of the ministry. This must be done within the vision and goals of The Salvation Army, its Officers and the Corps.


  • To serve as a missionary from The Salvation Army to the Cleveland Miles Park Community, and Greater Cleveland on a whole.
  • To participate in Sunday worship services and serve as a role model to the program participants as it pertains to the Christian faith.
  • To be an assistant to the Corps Officers in administrative and church matters.
  • Serve on the Pastoral Team staff directing all youth ministries.
  • Organize and conduct worship meetings, utilizing the musical forces and the entire pastoral staff to fulfill our spiritual mission and focusing on the three S’s: Soup, Soap and Salvation.
  • Supervise teen ministry of the Corps. This should include, but not be limited to:
  1. Fellowship Activities
  2. Bible Studies
  3. Worship Projects
  4. Retreats
  5. Fundraising Events
  • Planning and implementing of other ministries that will benefit the young people or the community; keeping in mind the mission of The Salvation Army.
  • Serve as the Sunday School Superintendent, which includes preparing, planning, and conducting member follow-up.
  • Coordinate worship activities with the corps officers, including Sunday Worship Services, music activities, and creative arts.
  • Do visitations as necessary.
  • Maintain up-to-date records and statistics as required by the Corps.
  • Drive as necessary for activities, including pickup and drop off for programs and church.
  • Plan, organize and coordinate Vacation Bible School.
  • Process summer camp registrations for Corps children and transport them to camp.
  • Participate in and support the implementation of special activities and events for the Corps as requested by the Corps Officer.
  • Assist with administration of seasonal programs (such as: Christmas toy distribution, Kettles, Back-to-School, and Summer Programs).



Must be 21 years of age.

Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Must have an Associates Degree and/or equivalent experience.

Must have practical experience in Church ministries and organizational management.




It should be noted that the above duties are the essential functions of the position, but other duties necessary to the overall enhancement of Salvation Army service and program may be required.
