SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION:

To direct, plan and supervise all programming aspects of the Visitation Program. To provide supervised visitation and related services to families involved in the foster care and court system. To assist families in meeting the goal of family reunification as appropriate.      

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for documentation in compliance with Agency and contract requirements, including but limited to ECDSS, Erie Co. Div. for Youth, NYS Connections and The Salvation Army
  • Supervise and direct all aspects of the Visitation Program, including on-site, off-site and preventive services
  • Train and supervise counselors of preventive supervision and off-site
  • Provide customer assessment and counseling as needed
  • Oversee compliance with funding and licensing sources
  • Document case records in compliance with Agency and contract requirements
  • Generate yearly statistical reports including all narratives
  • Conduct research to provide clinical support for cases as needed
  • Responsible for ongoing program development
  • Provide advocacy for mandated services as needed
  • Advocate for cases requiring referral to other sources
  • Provide parenting information sessions to families as needed
  • Provide court testimony as required
  • Maintain program fidelity at all times as required
  • Recruit appropriate staff members in accordance with contract requirements
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate statistical reports, timesheets and mileage records in the format required by the Finance Office and other data as required
  • Attend training sessions as provided
  • Attend community coalitions as appropriate
  • Participate in internal and DSS case reviews
  • Act on behalf of the Agency in generating billable hours and work closely with ECDSS to generate new referrals
  • Attend and participate in Agency staff meetings
  • Fulfill role as Mandated Reporter in incidents of child abuse and neglect
  • Exhibit fiscal responsibly
  • Be available for out of area travel as may be required
  • Acquire up-to-date research on relevant social work practice (four synopses per year)
  • Participate in other duties as requested by the Area Coordinator or his representative

Qualifications

SPECIAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

·         M.S.W. or M.S. with L.C.S.W. or other clinical licensure and 3 years practice experience 

·         Experience working with diverse populations and the foster care system

·         Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office.

·         Ability to provide culturally competent practice.

·         Must have valid license that meets The Salvation Army insurance requirements.

·         Must have access to own vehicle during work hours.
