The Salvation Army Eastern Territorial Headquarters (THQ) has an opening for an Office 365 Communications Engineer to handle collaboration and communication services.
This individual will lead the Territory IT Department’s initiative of providing Microsoft Teams Phone systems to all locations within the US Eastern Territory. This position has responsibility for Microsoft365 / Office365, administering virtual and physical servers, hardware appliances, and maintaining approved standards for business continuity, encompassing the hundreds of Salvation Army sites and thousands of customers within the Territory. The position requires a broad knowledge of telephony systems, voice mail systems, Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN), telecommunications carriers’ operations, processes, and procedures. Additionally, knowledge of voice trunking, such as CO/DID, ISDN PRI, SIP; and OPS/FEX services is critical. Must demonstrate experience working with Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), and familiarity of PBX technology. Must be extremely proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products, and adept at managing Active Directory and Azure. The Communications Engineer will research, evaluate, design, develop and test systems within Microsoft 365, with primary emphasis on Microsoft Teams and Teams Phone systems. The Communications Engineer will competently plan, build and implement a robust Microsoft Teams Phone System for use throughout the Eastern Territory. This position is also responsible for the migration plan from existing Cisco Call Manager systems currently in use in many locations throughout the Territory to Microsoft Teams Phone Systems.
