We are seeking a career-minded individual for the role of Resident Manager assigned to the State Street Apartments Program location here in Syracuse.  

 

The Resident Manager is assigned to provide coverage on the Overnight Shift where they will supervise the residents and the general management of this program.  You would be responsible for ensuring a safe, secure, comfortable, and supportive environment

in a manner consistent with the policies and procedures of this program and The Salvation Army.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the house overnight routine, including supervising and assistance with house chores, providing client's access to medications.
  • Supportive listening and creating an atmosphere of acceptance and understanding.
  • Take an active role assisting the case managers and case aide by working with the residents on their individualized service plans.
  • Monitor social group activities, assist with recreational activities and special events.
  • Provide transportation to the resident's by utilizing The Salvation Army's vehicles.
  • Assist with occasional grocery shopping, cleaning and maintenance along with shift specific services.
  • Answer the phone and monitor building security.

Qualifications

  • A High School diploma or General Education Degree is required.
  • 6months to 1 year of work and/or internship experience working with adolescents or young adults is preferred.
  • Must have a valid NYS Driver License that meets The Salvation Army's Driving and Insurance Program requirements.
  • Position will require individual to obtain and re-certify CPR Certification.
  • Possess a strong ability to identify and diffuse situations within a team setting and on an individual basis.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  1. This position works in a residential housing/apartment environment.
  2. Must be able to navigate stairs, lift up to Forty (40) pounds and complete required cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  3. It may require transporting residents in all weather conditions.
  4. Routine use of standard office equipment to include computers, phones, copiers/printers.
