Position: Case Aide

Department: Children’s Services - Foster Care Program, Allentown PA

Availability of Position:   Immediate

Schedule:   Part Time Flexible Schedule of up to 20 hours per week.    A variety of schedules are available including daytime, early evening and weekend hours.

Reporting Relationship: Reports to Visitation Coordinator

Salary and Grade: $19.25 per hour; 76 Non-Exempt

The Salvation Army has a long, rich history of serving the community and offers innovative programs that meet the diverse needs of children, youth and families.


Become part of our team helping to re-build family relationships and support reunification efforts for children in foster care! The Case Aide works with foster children and birth parents, resource families and case workers to promote safe and nurturing interaction between the children and their families. The Case Aide provides transportation to children and families for family visitation and other necessary appointments and supervises family visits as needed. The Case Aide will have the opportunity to participate in professional development and learn Trust Based Relational Invention so to engage with families using the innovative and evidenced based practice of TBRI®. Visitation may occur in the community, agency office, family home or the Comfort Cottage, which is a home-like setting that offers a more natural environment when visiting at the home is not possible.


Bachelor’s Degree required plus a minimum of two years of work experience in child welfare or similar setting.  A Pennsylvania driver’s license, safe driving record, insurance and reliable automobile is required.  Flexibility in scheduling work hours is necessary.  An appreciation for, and understanding of, the philosophy and mission of The Salvation Army is required. Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks:   PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check.
