Overview

Under direct supervision of Corps Officers, cultivate relationships with the surrounding community building a bridge of connection with The Salvation Army New York Temple Corps.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Volunteers
  • Handle volunteer recruitment
  • Handle volunteer scheduling and tasks making
  • Plan volunteer events
  • Oversee common areas used by volunteers.
  • Assist with organization and maintenance of pantry area.
  • Directly supervise operation of Daily Feeding Program
  • Attend community meetings.
  • Actively engage community members and partners.
  • Organize community outreach.
  • Assist Corps Officers in evangelistic campaigns in whatever capacity.
  • Assist in Mobile Food Pantry, coordinating with Case Worker.
  • Handle coordination and communication with Seasonal Donors
  • Assist Corps Officer in Seasonal Christmas effort
  • Assist Corps Officers in tasks related to the operation of the New York Temple Corps.
  • You must perform all duties in compliance with Salvation Army policies and regulations.
  • It should be noted that the above duties are the essential functions of the position, but other duties necessary to the overall enhancement of Salvation Army service may be required.
  • Confidentiality is of utmost importance and failure to meet this requirement with result in termination.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-year related experience
  • English and Spanish or Mandarin speaking skills.
  • Valid NY Driver’s License.
  • Ability to pick up to 35 lbs.
  • Comfortable multi-tasking and prioritizing tasks without guidance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to create and maintain internal and external professional relationships.
  • Excellent time and project management skills.
