Overview

The Salvation Army in Southwest Ohio is seeking candidates for a full time, 40 hour per week Anti-Human Trafficking Outreach Specialist position. This position will coordinate our outreach efforts to those being exploited through both sex and labor trafficking. Outreach efforts include: street outreach, online outreach, hotel outreach, migrant outreach, jail/detention center outreach, and others. Responsibilities include working with survivors of human trafficking to foster safety and empowerment, assess needs and provide emergency response. Additionally, this position will be responsible for implementing, monitoring and evaluating outreach interventions designed to support survivors in entering recovery and coordinate our drop-in program. This position will also be responsible for coordinating outreach with partner organizations and maintaining relationships with our outreach partners.

REPORTS TO:         Anti-Human Trafficking Manager

SUPERVISES:          None.

STATUS:                   Non-Exempt              

SCHEDULE:             Full-time.  Must be able to respond 24/7 to human trafficking emergencies.

Qualifications

    • Experience working with victims of human trafficking is preferred. Experience working with victims of other traumatic crimes, such as domestic violence or sexual assault is required.
    • Candidates with lived experience are encouraged to apply.  
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or equivalent, preferred.
    • Successfully obtain and maintain driving privileges per The Salvation Army insurance standards, including maintaining access to a personal vehicle and insurance coverage for transportation needs related to this position. Mileage reimbursement will be utilized where appropriate.   
  • Willingness to uphold and support The Salvation Army’s mission and ministry.
