Title: Transitional Housing & Social Services Supervisor                                                                 

Location: West Chester, PA Corps, 101 East Market St

Reports To: Family Services Administrator & Commanding Officer 

Availability: Immediate

Schedule:  Part-Time; Monday to Friday  9:00am to 2:30pm

Salary and Grade: $14.00 per hour; 74  Non-Exempt

Position Overview: Responsible for overseen the Railton House programs. Oversees clients, facility, inventory, and appropriate paperwork for the program clients on a weekly, monthly, and yearly basis.



*Participate in screening, evaluating, and performing disciplinary actions when needed of residents and clients of Permanent Housing and Railton House program

*Responsible for processing rent and utility assistant paperwork for various federal programs.

*Participate in community networking with other agencies and do community outreach for clients when needed.

*Prepare and enable clients to live independently in community after discharge of the programs.

*Gather monthly statistics data and other reports as needed to meet requirements, monthly, quarterly and yearly reports. 

*Gather and report stats from the Social Services Department.

*Ensure property and inventory in the programs is kept in good condition and clean.

  • College Degree (preferred but not necessary) or at least 2 years of compensatory work experience in the Human Services
  • Experience in Supervision
  • High School Diploma
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Basic Level proficiency of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Good communication skills verbal and written.
  • Computer literate to maintain e-mails account (Outlook and/or Lotus Notes)
  • Must be able to maintain flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and evening, if needed
  • As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check.
  • Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
