Overview

SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The On Call Housekeeper will provide support relative to the readiness of camp for all respite guests and Salvation Army Groups. The On Call Housekeeper will provide customer service to guests modeling an attitude and behavior in support of The Salvation Army’s mission.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in any daily tasks as needed and directed by the Program Secretary, Respite Coordinators or Divisional Youth Secretaries.
  • Cleaning, disinfecting, and re-setting of all Lakeside apartments, lodge rooms, lodge kitchen and dining room, cabins and other areas as scheduled/needed.
  • Must maintain daily cleaning/disinfecting check lists and leave in the office for record keeping.
  • Keep supply rooms and laundry room neat, organized, and well-stocked.
  • Maintain inventory and replace necessary items, reporting to camp office missing items in a timely manner for ordering/billing.
  • Maintain proper cleaning/disinfecting supplies in proper locations.
  • Wash bedding and towels as scheduled or needed.
  • Report any maintenance needs, damages or needed repairs to camp office.
  • Assist in preparing and serving meals for corps groups as scheduled/needed.
  • Clean all appliances, coolers, freezers and counter tops following food service.
  • Assist in set up of dining hall including tables, chairs, place settings and specific group requests as needed.
  • Assist in all preparations for incoming guests and groups.
  • Secure/lock any buildings/rooms that are not in use.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by the Program Secretary, Respite Coordinators or Divisional Youth Secretaries.

Qualifications

SPECIAL SKILLS, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

 

• High School diploma/GED.
• Must be thorough, well organized, and efficient with the ability to multi-task.
• Must possess a high-level of professionalism and cultural competence with ability to communicate with all levels of staff and external customers/stakeholders.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license that meets The Salvation Army insurance requirements
• Ability to respond to emergencies.
