  • Overview

    The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center is seeking a full time Program Enrichment Lead to create an environment that is conducive to various levels of giftedness, learning styles, and interests of the students. The Program Enrichment Lead will assist and participate in the day-to-day operations of all The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center education programs and will supervise staffing for Club 7-11 and Enrichment Programs, including tutoring.


    • Work with Education Manager and Education Coordinator to identify and create high yield activities for education department.
    • Develop Curriculum and learning materials across disciplines for each unit and 7-11 program.
    • Assist Education Manager and Education Coordinator with creating activities and schedules for 7-11 program.
    • Assist Education Manager and Education Coordinator with data collection, input, and program paperwork.
    • Assist Unit Leaders during homework time with student time management.
    • Assist with creating special activity days such as Fun Fridays and Family Nights.
    • Utilize behavior management strategies to monitor and support children’s behavior; utilize an articulated behavior plan; report behavior concerns to appropriate personnel as required.
    • Assist and supervise the after-school programs as assigned.
    • Implement instructional learning activities for the purpose of improving students' academic, physical and social skills.
    • Keep all areas where program participants are located in an organized and clean manner.
    • Ensure that events and activities begin and end on time.
    • Ensure participant safety. Assist and direct program participants in moving about the facility to avoid crowded conditions and maximize service efficiency.
    • Assist children with self-care (assisting children in the restrooms) as required.
    • Lead youth through active and supportive guidance and creative activities.
    • Write and submit curriculum for enrichment program and Kids F.E.A.S.T., as needed.
    • Assist with planning activities for unit groups or general program.
    • Attend all scheduled staff meetings and management team meetings as required.
    • Assist with daily reports for the program.
    • See that all injuries for those under your program whether employee, volunteer, visitor, or spectator report all injuries in a timely manner and according to procedure.
    • Serve as Assistant Camp Director for Summer Camp (Summer with RJ).
    • Conduct outreach to the community by attending fairs and community meetings, distributing flyers, and assisting with the marketing and promoting of the services provided at the Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center.
    • Ensure programs comply with The Salvation Army's KeepSAfe standards for all staff and volunteers to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants in the program.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.


    • Associate Degree required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
    • At least two years of experience working with youth of elementary or middle school age in a school, after-school program, or camp environment.
    • Must have or be able to acquire within the first 30 days of employment a First Aid & CPR certification.
    • Must have the ability to work and relate well with people.
    • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
    • Must be available to work week nights.
    • Must be able to lift and carry 40 lbs.
    • Bilingual (Spanish or Cape Verdean Creole) preferred.
