    • Food ordering for The Salvation Army and special events.
    • Responsible for a budget and/or responsible for budget preparation and record keeping.
    • Health and safety of Food Operations, including cleanliness of kitchen and dining room.
    • Establish and monitor menu plans and complete statistical reports in compliance with regulation agencies.
    • Supervision and training of all kitchen staff (full time and part time).
    • Establish and monitor procedures in sanitation for compliance with regulatory agencies.
    • Quality assurance for prepared meals (taste, temperature, appearance, timeliness).
    • Inventory control, daily meal counts, and cash to Finance daily.
    • Preparation of meals when assistance is needed.
    • Load and unload delivery trucks as necessary.
    • Demonstrate cultural competence, as well as integrate understanding into daily responsibilities and participate in meeting the objectives of The Salvation Army, Syracuse Area Services Strategic Plan.
    • Knowledge of Program specific nutritional requirements per CACFP, Early Head Start and Title III.

    • Servsafe Manager certification
    • Work requires an Associate or Technical School degree or equivalent with five (5) years applicable work experience in Kitchen/Food Service management.
    • Experience in purchasing methods and procedures including cost containment and, inventory control.
    • Supervisory experience required.
    • Excellent oral and written communication and proficient computer skills.
    • Must be able to use commercial kitchen equipment and stepladder.
    • Requires a valid Driver’s license that meets The Salvation Army insurance requirements.
