  • Overview

    To be responsible for the provision of Mobile Ministry Services at The Salvation Army Astoria, including but not limited to case management, documentation, program planning, and supervision of volunteers.

    Responsibilities

    • To be responsible for the provision of the Mobile Ministry Services at The Salvation Army Astoria under the direction of the Corps Officer including but not limited to case management, documentation, program planning and supervision of volunteers.
    • To work with community and government agencies to meet the needs of clients
    • To connect clients to other appropriate Salvation Army services and programs, as well as other community resources.
    • To participate in regular staff meetings and attend staffing conferences as assigned.
    • To maintain records to track measurable outcomes and submit them in a timely manner.
    • To attend training seminars as requested / assigned.
    • To perform reasonable tasks which may be assigned as needed.
    • To be sensitive to the Spiritual needs of people and refer them to the Corps Officer as needed.
    • To maintain client records in a thorough manner, following Salvation Army guidelines for confidentiality.
    • Create and maintain Mobile Ministry Programming
    • Recruit and work with Mobile Ministry Program Volunteers
    • Supervise and coordinate schedules for Mobile Ministry Volunteers and Community Service workers assigned to the Mobile Ministry Program.
    • Create and maintain a monthly Mobile Ministry Calendar of events
    • Maintain statistical records for all Mobile Ministry programs
    • Assist Corps Officers as a liaison between the Corps and support agencies and facilities
    • 14. Fulfill other appropriate duties as directed by the Corps Officer.

    Qualifications

    • BSW/ Studying in the field of Social Work
    • Bilingual in Spanish & English preferred
    • Ability to communicate & work with all volunteers, staff and guests of The Salvation Army
    • Ability facilitate and organize community events
    • Good Managerial Skills
    • Good Leadership Skills
    • Valid Driver’s License
