    Responsibilities

    • Provide comprehensive intake, evaluation and assessments of prospective clients.
    • Initiate and maintain regular contact with assigned clients, conducting visitation sessions with children, teens and non-custodial parents.
    • Provide intervention with the entire family as appropriate.
    • Devise and implement individual visitation plans and interventions.
    • Provide court documentation and testimony as warranted, including recommendations to the court, attorneys, and other parties concerned, regarding custody or other case-specific clinical issues.
    • Maintain a case record, narratives, and statistical information.
    • Demonstrate cultural competence, as well as integrate knowledge and understanding into daily responsibilities. 
    • Participate in meeting the objectives of The Salvation Army, Syracuse Area Services Strategic Plan.

     

    Qualifications

    • BA in Social Work, Psychology or another related Human Services Field
    • Requires background and/or training in dynamics of domestic violence, trauma and child development
    • Must have valid license that meets The Salvation Army insurance requirements
    • Must have access to own vehicle during work hours

    Able to substitute for other program staff in case of emergency and fulfill job requirements, maintain flexible schedule as required to perform duties
