    Position: Receptionist/Family Service Aide                               

    Department: Emergency Family Services                    

    Availability of Position: Immediate                                             

    Schedule:  Part-Time 20-29 hours per week

    Reporting Relationship: Director of Emergency Family Services and Corps Officers

    Salary and Grade: $10.50 per hour; 71 Non-Exempt

    Position Overview: The function of this position is to perform the tasks associated with the UGI casework load, regular family services aide duties and function as the receptionist.


    • General office duties which include:  serve as receptionist and direct visitors to proper assistance, answer telephone calls, filing, mailing, photocopying.
    • Assist in follow-up contacts with clients on the Customer Assistance Program.
    • Greet customers who come for services or are in need of assistance.
    • Interview clients, determine their needs and provide case management and emergency services.
    • Make referrals to other social service agencies to help meet the needs of the client.
    • Conduct follow up and survey with clients to track their self-sufficiency.
    • Attend trainings and seminars geared towards social services work.
    • Assisting with all aspects of The Salvation Army Seasonal assistance.
    • Performs related duties as assigned.

    • High School Diploma or GED
    • Bilingual in Spanish and English
    • Computer knowledge
    • Knowledge of multi-line telephones helpful.
    • Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks prior to employment: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check.
    • Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check along with renewals every 5 years.
    • Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
