    DEPARTMENT:          Social Ministries, Anti-Human Trafficking

    REPORTS TO:            Anti-Human Trafficking Manager

    SUPERVISES:             None.  

    STATUS:                       Intern/Temp            

    SCHEDULE:                15-25 hours per week for approximately 3 months

    FUNCTION:                The Department of Social Ministries hosts several community and participant events throughout the year. The events coordinator will have an opportunity to assist in the design, planning, and execution of these events. Execution may include promoting events in the community via social media, securing vendors, recording events, and tracking attendance of events with the intention of further engagement. 

     

    Responsibilities

    • Coordinate event of celebration for client successes, outreach events, homeless feeding events, and other awareness events for the Social Ministries programs.
    • Support marketing efforts on social media and other platforms to advertise these events.
    • Support the coordination of volunteers for relevant events.
    • Participate in other service programming, as needed.
    • Complete other tasks and duties as assigned by supervisor.

    Qualifications

      • High School Diploma.  Some college experience preferred.
      • Experience working with individuals of different backgrounds and life experiences.
      • Successfully obtain and maintain driving privileges per The Salvation Army insurance standards, including maintaining access to a personal vehicle and insurance coverage for transportation needs related to this position. Mileage reimbursement will be utilized where appropriate.  
    • Willingness to uphold and support The Salvation Army’s mission and ministry.
