  • Responsibilities



    • Provide training for Learning Center staff in tutor-student generated tutorial sessions and activities.
    • Supervise program components of the Learning Center: Tutoring, Homework Club, Recreation and oversee the AIM web testing
    • Provide daily supervision of Learning Center Children.
    • Coordinate and monitor ongoing programmatic needs of students’ academic progress, assessments and school grade reports.
    • Provide support to staff and implement necessary evaluations.
    • Develop plans of action via reports and recommendations as needed for the efficient operation of the Learning Center.
    • Responsible for the development and  implementation of overall parent workshops and parental involvement with the Learning Center.
    • Distribute, as appropriate, all Learning Center information, records and correspondence related to academic component.
    • Offer input as it relates to meeting the needs of the community and schools in the West Park area.
    • Hold weekly Learning Center staff & volunteer meetings to discuss operations, issues, etc.
    • Assist Officers  in areas of public relations, media, press releases and grant proposals.
    • Build relationships within the learning center to encourage children to participate in corps/ church programs/services.
    • Work alongside Corps in regard to space and time of programs and ministries as requested  by Corps officers
    • Work towards Step up to Quality requirements








    • BA. in or Associates Degree in Education, Psychology/Sociology, Recreation, Social Work, Early Childhood Development, or Families Studies AND Administration


    Bachelor or Associates Degree in any field and training (45 clock hours) or four courses of child development AND Administration training (in addition to 45 clock hours of training)


    High School/GED AND two years of onsite school-age experience AND training (45 clock hours) or four courses of child development AND Administration training (in addition to the 45 clock hours of training)

    • Relative experience in a classroom setting
    • Strong interpersonal communication skills and appropriate intervention skills required.
    • Strong knowledge of available educational resources required
