    Position: Program Aide/Driver

    Department: Levittown Corps, 215 Appletree Drive

    Availability of Position: September 2, 2019

    Schedule:  Part-Time; Monday through Friday 3pm to 6pm       

    Reporting Relationship: Corps Officers, Childcare Coordinator

    Salary and Grade: $10.00 per hour; 71 Non-Exempt      

    Position Overview: Provide a safe, fun, and caring environment for children enrolled in the After-School Program. Assist with homework, crafts, recreation time and provide snacks. Assist with children cleaning up program area.

    Responsibilities

    Transport children to and from school and trips. Assist in Aftercare Program.     

     

    After School care include but not exclusive the following responsibility:

    • Watch children, assist in preparing snacks, help with homework, projects,crafts and clean up after program. 
    • Provide a safe and fun environment in which children can come to after school.
    • Any other duties as shall be required by the supervisor under the aegis of the Corps Commanding Officer.
    • Support and affirm the mission of The Salvation Army, while on Salvation Army service.
    • Performs related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • 21 years of age and 1 year of experience working with children.
    • Be reliable and responsible with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record. 
    • As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every three years thereafter. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check.
    • While an appreciation for, and understanding of, the philosophy and mission of The Salvation Army is required, being active Salvationist is a plus.
