    Cook/Food Service Coordinator

    20 hr/wk @ $15/hr

    Corps Officer (s)

     

    Education Requirements

     

    High School Diploma, Associates and/or Bachelors in Culinary Arts preferred

     

    Work Experience

     

    • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a commercial kitchen
    • Experience with creating menus and preparing meals for 100 -200 clients

     

    Other Qualifications

     

    • Must be ServeSafe Certified
    • Supervisory skills preferred (to manage volunteers)
    • Must have excellent organization skills
    • Must understand FIFO inventory control
    • Must be able to lift an average of 50lbs
    • Must have Valid Driver’s License
    • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, bi-lingual preferred

     

    Principal Functions

     

    The Cook/Food Service Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day Food Service Operation at the Haverhill Corps.  This person must perform duties including but not limited picking up food products from donors, menu planning, and inventory control.

     

     

    Duties and Responsibilities

     

    1. Pick up and sort food products from weekly food donors

     

    1. Prepare daily meals according to planned menus, with flexibility to creatively utilize food donations

     

    1. Follow all ServeSafe protocols regarding proper handling of food, equipment and insure proper storage of foods

     

    1. Regularly clean all kitchen equipment, counters, floors, etc

     

    1. Work and meet regularly with Corps Officer (s) to review personnel issues, menu plans, and supply and purchasing needs

     

    1. Prepare, cook and serve meals on site to those in need with the assistance of volunteers

     

    1. Ensure all volunteers (and other staff) are properly and accurately trained in the safe use of all kitchen equipment, as needed

     

    1. Recruit, train, and supervise all volunteers related to the Soup Kitchen

     

    1. Maintain inventory of food and supplies

     

    1. Perform other duties within the scope of the position.
