  • Overview

    To assist the Corps Officer(s) in the overall maintenance of the building


    • Check outside perimeters by removing all unsightly debris,
    • Vacuum all floor mats, check all wastebaskets for trash, dust & mop lobby all halls, classrooms, and offices.
    • Check all bathrooms for cleanliness, replenish soap and paper towels, (sweep, clean toilets and mop floor as )
    • Sweep and mop kitchen areas.
    • Clean chapel (including vacuum, dusting, and polishing pews.
    • Check and put away all deliveries.
    • Clean all stairwells (make sure they are free of debris or trash and mop when needed)
    • Shovel snow
    • Touch up paint throughout the building, minor repairs, change of lightbulbs, etc. when necessary
    • Fix plumbing fixtures when necessary.
    • It should be noted that the above duties are the essential functions of the position, but other duties may be deemed necessary to the overall enhancement of The Salvation Army service may be required.


    • Must possess a valid, current New York State Driver's license or obtain one within the first 2 months of hire date.
    • Knowledge of cleaning supplies and use them appropriately.
    • Able to do minor repairs for upkeep of the building.
