Availability of Position: Immediately
Schedule: Part-Time; 3:30p-9:30p Flex Mon-Fri (some weekends possible)
Reporting Relationship: Shift Supervisor
Salary and Grade: $13.00 per hour; 73 Non-Exempt

The Resident Advisor (R/A) is responsible for monitoring resident’s activities, for providing emotional support, for listening to their needs or concerns and for helping them to resolve their issues. R/A’s are responsible for assisting residents with donations, taking them to do their wash, monitoring residents’ children, and ensuring the floor they are assigned to is clean, safe and secure. They are responsible for ensuring residents keep their rooms clean, neat and tidy, for the enforcement of rules and regulations and for taking written action when residents fail to follow policies. R/A’s are required to conduct hourly room checks and bathroom checks and they are to ensure that children are treated with kindness and respect; any form of child abuse must be reported immediately. The hours listed above are subject to change.
Housekeeping:
R/A’s are responsible for light housekeeping. Rooms must be cleaned prior to new residents entering assigned room. Bathrooms and showers must be kept clean. Trash must be emptied nightly. R/A’s are required to report any maintenance concerns to their shift supervisor.

High School Diploma or GED. One (1) year experience in related field of work. Must possess strong organizational ability, ability to follow up with complaints, problem solve, be flexible, must have very strong verbal and written skills. Ability to work independently and under pressure while remaining tolerant, patient and respectful of all people we serve. Must have excellent customer service skills and an ability to get along well with all people. Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check. Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
