  • Overview

    As a member of the Development team, the Corporate and Foundation Coordinator will perform a vital role assisting and supporting the Directors of Corporate and Foundation Relations in managing and enhancing major gifts throughout the Greater New York Division. 

    Responsibilities

    • Provide administrative and clerical support, including all correspondence and requested reports relative to Major Gifts
    • Database management (Clearview, Salesforce, etc.)
    • Donor and Prospect Research (Internet, Wealth Engine, etc.)
    • Organize and provide logistic support for special events, meetings and corps development efforts
    • Prepare and execute mass mailings (event follow-ups, newsletters, general appeals, annual reports, special events, etc.)
    • Process and track invoices for payment, petty cash vouchers, travel and reimbursements
    • Attendance at Special Events as required
    • Position may require some traveling to the The Salvation Army Territorial Headquarters for necessary training
    • Performs other tasks and duties as assigned by the DRD on behalf of Major Gifts and/or as required across the Development Department in support of fundraising initiatives

    Qualifications

    • BA desired, but not required. 
    • At least 2 years of experience as an office assistant
    • Effective interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication abilities 
    • Proven expertise in building and maintaining positive relationships with diverse individuals. 
    • The selected candidate should enjoy problem solving and should exude energy and initiative. 
    • Team Player. 
    • Able to work independently in a complex environment, managing multiple projects and conflicting priorities. 
    • Have valid Driver’s License. 
    • Demonstrated ability to set and achieve goals as well as meet deadlines. 
    • A proficiency in Word and Excel, as well as experience with donor tracking and/or database software is preferred.
