    October 1-November 4, 2018 (15 hours/week)

    November 5-18, 2018 (20-25 hours/week)

    November 19-25, 2018 (15 hours)

    November 26-December 24, 2018 (40 hours/week)

    January 2 – 16, 2019 (15 hours/week)


    Scope & Purpose of Position:

    Will assist the Corps Officer(s) with Holiday programming (Kettles, Angel Tree Programs, etc.) and provide daily transportation of kettles and individuals to Christmas Kettle Campaign sites.

    • Coordinate all fundraising activities for the Annual Kettle Campaign.
    • Maintain appropriate filing system for all Kettle Campaign information.
    • Promote the Kettle Campaign using radio, newspaper, television, social media, and other outlets as able.
    • Recruit individual and group Bell Ringer volunteers.
    • Keep communication dialog with local churches, schools, and service clubs.
    • Contact local store managers to secure approval of a kettle stand at the store.
    • Complete an inventory and prepare kettle equipment.
    • Process applications for seasonal employees.
    • Process applications for seasonal volunteers.
    • Process and submit weekly payroll report for seasonal employees.
    • Assist count team with counting of kettle money and preparation of deposits.
    • Collect and deposit kettle donations as directed by Treasurer, Chairperson and/or Corps Officer(s).
    • Check the payroll register against time sheets every week.
    • Track fuel levels and mileage logs for all van usage.
    • Schedule work hours and locations for Bell Ringers.
    • Drive Bell Ringers to various work locations.
    • Change Bell Ringers at shift change.
    • Pick up seasonal donations as requested.
    • Stand kettles if needed and relieve Bell Ringers for breaks.
    • Provide home transportation to Bell Ringers as directed.
    • Meet groups or individual volunteers at kettle site.
    • Deliver the kettle to the office at the end of a shift

    • Must be 21 years old, have a valid driver’s license, and be willing to drive a 12-passenger van.
    • Strong organization and communication skills are required.
    • Great attention to detail.
    • Must be able to meet deadlines.
    • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment while demonstrating a positive attitude.
    • Must be able to read, write and communicate well in English. Bilingual in English/Spanish is helpful.
    • High School or G.E.D. and one year experience working with kettle fundraising programs preferred.
    • Knowledge and experience with volunteer recruitment methods and practices.
    • Ability to follow instructions and work with limited supervision.
    • Ability to prepare accurate and complete records and reports.
    • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with volunteers and staff.
    • Ability to lead, motivate, and evaluate the work of volunteers and staff.
    • Ability to maintain volunteer and financial database.
    • Experience with general office equipment and Microsoft Office applications.
    • Will respect and promote the interest of The Salvation Army. The individual is not required to embrace the tenets of faith, but he/she is required to promote and respect the mission of The Salvation Army.
