Position: Lead Resident Advisor

Availability of Position: Immediately
Schedule: Part-Time; 11:30 PM - 7:30 AM a flex.
Reporting Relationship: Shift Supervisor
Salary and Grade: $13.00 per hour; 73 Non-Exempt

The Lead Resident Advisor (R/A) is responsible for monitoring resident’s activities, for providing emotional support, for listening to their needs or concerns and for helping them to resolve their issues. R/A’s are responsible for assisting residents with donations, taking them to do their wash, monitoring residents children, and ensuring the floor they are assigned to is clean, safe and secure. They are responsible for ensuring residents keep their rooms clean, neat and tidy, for the enforcement of rules and regulations and for taking written action when residents fail to follow policies. R/A’s are required to conduct hourly room checks and bathroom checks and they are to ensure that children are treated with kindness and respect; any form of child abuse must be reported immediately. R/A’s are responsible for light housekeeping. Rooms must be clean and tidy prior to new residents moving into their assigned room, bathrooms and showers must be kept clean. Trash must be emptied nightly. R/A’s are required to report any maintenance concerns to their shift supervisor.
The Lead Resident Advisor is also responsible for overseeing the shift in the absence of both shift supervisors, these duties include: Monitoring R/As ensuring they are completing their assigned duties. Completing regular building checks. Assisting residents with their needs and ensuring they are following rules and regulations. Assist with after-hours placements. Notate shift events in Daily Log Book. Complete statistical information.

High School Diploma or GED. A Minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience. Must be an independent self-starter and be able to work a flexible schedule. Must have excellent customer service skills, and an ability to get along well with all people. Must be able to exercise patience, understanding, kindness and tolerance. Must be able to multitask while remaining positive. Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following clearance and background checks: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check. Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
