    The Emergency and Practical Assistance Program has an immediate opening for a full-time, 40 hour per week Food Pantry Coordinator. This position will assess the needs of clients seeking assistance with housing, food, or other basic needs, will provide direct assistance when able, and/or provide referrals to other agency or community resources when necessary.

    • Provide direct assistance with food, formula, diapers etc.  Responsible for ensuring that all guidelines are followed with the storage and distribution of all items.  Ensure shelves and refrigerator/freezer are stocked at the end of each day.  Pick up food and baked goods as needed.
    • Maintain the cleanliness of the Food Pantry and the EPAS waiting area.  Ensure walkway remains salted during winter months.
    • Ensure that client service information and financial paperwork is accurately completed and recorded in a timely manner.  Maintain all paperwork in an organized manner. 
    • Assist EPAS programs by screening and making referrals, setting up appointments or referring to community resources that can meet their needs. 
    • Provide reception services for all EPAS programs.
    • Train, schedule and supervise clerical and food pantry volunteers to ensure proper conduct and that work assignments are appropriately completed.  Submit bi-weekly/monthly timesheets to SCSD, CNY Works, Jobs Plus and TSA volunteer coordinator.  Conduct bi-weekly supervision with CNY Works and OJT staff.            


    • High School Diploma/GED with one to two years related experience
    • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task
    • Knowledge of community resources
    • Basic word and data entry skills
    • Valid driver’s license that meets The Salvation Army’s insurance requirements
    • Access to a vehicle
