    Education RequirementsB.A. in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related field

     

    Work ExperienceA minimum of one year experience working with at risk youth and knowledge of the juvenile system

    • Excellent Communication Skills
    • Experience in developing and coordinating small youth groups
    • Program Experience preferred
    • Strong Networking Skills are essential

    • Principal FunctionsDevelop & direct the BTG program in Framingham
    •  
    • Duties and Responsibilities

     

    1. Responsible for the development and continuing enhancement of the BTG program  
    2. Develop a strong network of referrals of at risk/high risk youth from appropriate agencies 
    3. Interview prospective referrals and their parents/guardians to evaluate client matches for the program 
    4. Lead BTG classes three days a week  
    5. Develop group lesson plans for each session 
    6. Coordinate program including speakers and guests to enhance program curriculum 
    7. Evaluate, develop and enhance BTG curriculum in keeping with the values of The Salvation Army 
    8. Develop follow-up procedures so as to evaluate effectiveness of the program 
    9. Recruit and supervise BTG interns 
    10. Develop funding opportunities so as to eventually make the program self sufficient  
    11. Network with community members/professionals to improve The Salvation Army’s standing in the community as well as develop new opportunities for partnerships and service delivery 
    12. Work with the Corps Officers to provide spiritual outreach to the youth served 
    13. Consult and train with the Divisional Director 
    14. Provide monthly statistics and records 
    15. Follow up with graduates and families to evaluate program success 
    16. Perform other related duties as assigned
