  • Overview

    This position will be responsible for assisting with the medical management of the detoxification of each client in the unit.  This position will provide treatment care with respect for human dignity and uniqueness of the client regardless of economic or social class, personal attributes or the nature of health problems.



    This is a 3rd shift position - 11:30pm - 8:00 am Monday - Friday.


    • complete screening for admission, assessments, urine screens, CINA and CIWA assessments.
    • complete TB testing and record results, make referrals for further testing or medical treatment when needed, educate clients concerning TB, HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, refer self reported HIV positive and Hepatitis positive clients to proper follow up agencies.
    • adequately manage client's medical problems, dispense medications according to physician's order.
    • administration of necessary/appropriate medically assisted treatment pharmaceuticals.  Specifically Vivitrol and other medication at the direction of The Salvation Army, Medical Directors, Program Manager or Executive Director.
    • Display competence and understanding of aspects of addiction.
    • communicate pertinent issues or concerns to medical coordinator or ADAS Manager, work with other program staff to provide highest level of coordinated care possible to each client.
    • facilitate shift change.
    • safeguard clients right to confidentiality at all times.
    • assumes responsibility and accountability for individual nursing judgments and actions.
    • provide nursing care with respect.
    • other duties as requested by the medical coordinator, ADAS manager and/or Executive Director.


    • current nursing license in the State of Ohio - RN preferred but LPN acceptable
