We currently have an opening for a full-time Territorial Director of Integrated Marketing.

     

    This is a key leadership position in the Community Relations and Development Department (CRD), providing strategic direction for direct and integrated marketing efforts across the Eastern Territory, with oversight of direct marketing, the CRM team and the digital team.  The position is directly responsible for managing the territory-wide direct response program on behalf of the Divisions.  This leader works collaboratively with territorial colleagues and divisional stakeholders and manages the direct marketing vendors.  Key objectives of the position are to achieve sustained growth in net income, the net number of active donors, acquisition of new donors, and the number of sustaining (monthly) donors, minimizing donor attrition and maximizing donor retention, loyalty and long-term donor giving value, across the territory.  The position promotes an integrated marketing approach across channels (e.g. offline and online) and disciplines (e.g. direct marketing, major gifts, planned giving).  The position supervises the Director of Digital Strategy and ensures the incorporation of effective digital fund raising and engagement approaches with the overall direct marketing efforts of the territory.  This leader also educates and consults with the field about effective direct marketing and fund raising trends and trains cadets, officers and staff as opportunity avails. This position also supervises the Territorial CRM Director to ensure a highly efficient and functional territory-wide database and donation processes that optimally support direct marketing, constituent management and other fund raising functions across the territory.  The director coordinates data analysis and explores ways to optimize cost-effective direct marketing efforts, segmentation, donor stewardship journeys and enhanced use of data for donor engagement across the territory.

    • Supports strong engagement and stewardship of donors online, including donor journeys and personas, and ensures good use of analytics to optimize performance and develop models for targeting of efforts.
    • Ensures divisional stakeholder participation in review of direct marketing results, analytics, trends, recommendations, strategies and tactics, schedules, etc. Manages the direct mail vendor and process and makes recommendations to THQ leadership to ensure a strong and growing program.
    • Provides professional direction and consultation for coordinated strategies in regard to direct marketing, vendors and tactics across disciplines.
    • Work with other CRD staff and other departments, as needed (IT and Finance) to establish and document effective business rules and practices for Direct Mail processes.
    • Contributes to the consistent application of our brand standards, values, messaging and mission to donor communications, while ensuring strong direct response.
    • Acts as consultant to Territory field staff in all aspects of direct marketing programs.
    • Provides research on new vendors, tools and processes for promoting new direct marketing materials, campaigns and techniques as well as analysis regarding current vendors and results. Manages all direct marketing vendor RFP processes and selections (territory-wide).
    • Keep Territory leadership and staff apprised of outside influences that could or may already be affecting current direct marketing efforts (including US Postal regulations, “Do Not” lists, Anti-SPAM regulations, the impact of world events and / or national disasters on specific campaigns, etc.).
    • Analyzes and makes recommendations for new donor acquisition processes.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree and ten years of related experience with increased responsibility.
    • Deep knowledge and extensive professional experience with successful direct marketing for non-profit organizations, including direct mail, phone campaigns / voice messaging, mass marketing, acquisition and lapsed donors, etc.
    • Advanced study in the field of direct mail marketing or CFRE Certification preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability to apply strategic planning and managerial / leadership skills necessary to effectively inspire and guide divisional direct marketing staff.
    • Ability to manage budgets and to audit, monitor and evaluate efficiency and effectiveness of on-going projects.
    • Proven, effective written and verbal communication skills
    • Must be a team player, working with others toward achievement of department objectives.
    • Ability to be a self-starter and innovator; to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
    • Keep up on all trends in fund development in general and direct marketing, digital / integrated marketing, and database marketing and management, specifically.
    • Ability to travel as necessary within the territory and outside the territory for meetings and conferences.

     

     

    SOFTWARE–RELATED SKILLS

    • Experience with PC’s and networking, database management, data transfer, system backup, constituent management systems, etc.
    • Strong familiarity with Salesforce, or similar database.
    • Familiar with reporting tools (e.g. Cognos, Sisense, Crystal Reports, Business Objects, etc.).
    • Familiar with online marketing tools.
    • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes.
