    Position: Day Activities Staff

    Department:  Developmental Disabilities Program; New Castle County,  DE, Support Employment/Community Options Program

    Availability of Position:  Immediately

    Schedule:   Full Time; Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
    Reporting Relationship:   Reports to the Program Coordinator for the location.

    Salary and Grade:  $12.63 per hour;  72 Non-Exempt

    Responsibilities

    Assists individuals with developmental disabilities in becoming more independent and engaged in activities in the local community.  Community day activities include recreational, socialization, volunteering and employment opportunities. The Day Activities Staff  implements the organization's mission and value by supporting individuals to make positive changes in their lives.

     

    Qualifications

    AA Degree in related field or 2 years of experience working with special needs population.  Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record, and basic computer skills required.  Experience should include supports to people with arrange of  Developmental Disabilities. Position requires a positive attitude toward the abilities of individuals with disabilities, good communication skills and the desire to engage people in activities that meet their interests and broaden their horizons. You must be able to successfully complete clearance required by the Joseph R. Biden II and the Child Protection Act.  Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
