    The Salvation Army is hiring!

     

    We are seeking a full-time Clinical Visitation Counselor for our Family Place Program, which provides safe opportunities for parents to visit with their children who are in foster care.

     

    The Clinical Visitation Cousnselor is responsible for providing visitation oversight and clinical counseling services to program participants.

    Responsibilities

    The Clinical Visitation Worker is responsible for:

    • Providing ongoing counseling to address issues such as mental health, substance use, domestic violence, trauma, or other issues that impact the safety and well-being of children and families.
    • Providing ongoing individual, couple, and family counseling to families as needed.
    • Providing comprehensive intake and evaluation of prospective clients.
    • Documentating observed behaviors and responses to treatment intervention.
    • Providing consultation and recommendations regarding each child's permanency plans and the family's overall treatment needs.
    • Providing expert testimony to courts and judiciaries regarding risk assessments.
    • Traveling to client homes when necessary.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree and active enrollment in a Masters' degree program in Human Services or related field required.
    • MSW or Masters Degree preferred.
    • Minimum of five years clinical experience required, strong background in family systems preferred.
    • Valid Driver's License that meets The Salvation Army's insurance requirements and access to a vehcile during work hours.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
