    The Salvation Army is hiring! We are seeking individuals with a passion for helping others, and a desire to do the most good in their own community.


    The Gathering Place for Seniors is a new social day program for seniors that will also include educational sessions AND on-site daycare for participants that care for young children during the day!


    This program is seeking a part-time Children's Activity Worker to oversee children in attendance. This includes planning and implementing fun, education, and age appropriate group activities for the children.

    • Plan and organize structured activities for children in attendance
    • Supervise a group of 8–10 children
    • Maintain health and safety of children at all times
    • Report any problems or concerns regarding the child’s welfare to the Senior Activity Coordinator
    • Assist with implementation of planned programs and activities under the direction of the Senior Activity Coordinator
    • Conduct age appropriate life skills education presentations
    • Other duties assigned by Program Staff and Corps Officers as requested
    • Attend all required trainings, including (but not limited to), NYS Mandated Reporter Training and The Salvation Army’s Keep Safe training.


    • High School Diploma/GED
    • Minimum one year experience working with children
    • Desire and ability to work with children
    • Ability to assist or lead with the teaching of activities
    • Energetic, sense of humor, patient and self-control
    • Safety oriented at all times
    • Creative and artistic a major plus
